An empath born with an imbalance of healing and empathy, she channeled her eccentricity into a lust for freedom and adventure. She became a reever, plying the high seas for gold and battles. She thought then she knew everything, and then, she met Kansallus the Rogue. They fell in love and had great adventures, but the day came when the dread Hornet Rust ruined it all for them.

Later, Kansallus was freed by Bartleby the Rogue, but Valara was left for dead, raped and battered. She was taken in by her old friends from before she left to become a reever, including her cousin Wicker Wind. She had a son, an ender, whom she refused to believe was such. She declared her daughter Aurelia and raised her as such.

Years, later, she would be freed of her madness by the power of Gifted music, rediscover her love of Kansallus and adventure, then find herself in the direst situation she could fathom. The old adventurous spirit soon gave way to realizing she was in over her head and fearing for her child.

Then, her grandbaby was born, and she took on a new task: protecting Marilyna Isral from Nightmare Incarnate.
