| Description | Natural born werebats bear a striking resemblance to their animalsake in their normal form. Infected werebats appear as they did before being infected in normal form. In animal form, they appear to be large versions of their given animal, usually a particularly carnivorous breed. In mixed form, they appear to be anthropomorphic bats. |
| Procreation | Follows the mother between most pseudohumans. Outside classification, it varies. Can spread therianthropy through biting & contaminating blood. |
| Magic | One in a million have soul magic. One in a million have heart magic. Mind magic is possible. Body magic is very effective. Void is possible. Faith is not uncommon. |
| Special Powers | Werebats can shift form between "human," bat, & mixed forms. Each form has advantages: "human" form blends with society, bat form has all the advantages the bat has (echolocation, flight, stealth), & the mixed form combines the two (echolocation, flight, stealth, & an ability to mix into human or greater bat society). Each were is born under a specific full moon (one of the three) that determines when they will be susceptible to lunacy. On the full moon, an uncontrolled, berserk transformation takes place, usually to the mixed form. During these periods, they savagely attack & spread their disease. During other periods, they can control the shift, except during the new moon phase of their particular moon. Werebats have heigtened hearing & weak vision. They are very skilled at night hunting & tend to be frenzied & chaotic, in accordance with their nature. If a wound is not made by silver, it will heal quickly. They are extremely resistant to disease & poisons. Werebats also have the ability to control bats, calling them with their shrill calls. |
| Weaknesses | Silver, magic, or faith is required to kill a werebat. Order magic or faith is especially effective. |
| Culture | Werebats live blended into human society mostly. Upon the full moon, they either find protection or they go lunatically rampaging. They are very ugly beings, & they tend to live on the fringe. Werebats blended into greater bat society simply reverse their primary form. They are generally known to be lycanthropes amongst greater bats & get shunned. Those in the wild generally lose their memories of their intelligent forms. |
