| Species | Entropic Gnome |
| Over-species | Gnome |
| Classification | Vaettir |
| Family | Fell Gnome |
| Sphere | Chaos |
| Origin | From the rules of entropy. |
| Lifespan | 80-120 years |
| Habitat | Craggy mountains and shores, where they live in burrows and stony structures |
| Food | The smelliest, most unusual aspects of human fare |
| Description | Entropic gnomes are short (about 3'), Their heads are slightly too big for their bodies. They have big noses, wide grins, and wild and unpredictable colored hair and skin. |
| Procreation | Gnome breed with each other, where the type of gnome is determined by the mother of the gnome. Breeding with non-gnomes is only possible with supernatural intervention. |
| Esoterica | Most gnomes are hegnhic beings who are compelled to obey specific rules, but entropic gnomes are compelled to violate their own rules. By obeying the rules, they gain insights into systems and mechanism that gives them a supernatural affinity for devices and engineering. By violating their own rules, entropic gnomes gain entropic powers and random insights into various systems and mechanisms. Entropic gnomes can use almost any supernatural energy. |
| Special Powers | Entropic gnomes have supernatural skill with quantum engineering and devices, usually, though one in ten has a random talent for another form of engineering. Like all gnomes, they have gnomish illogic damage, wherein their inevitably dangerously failed experiments do not, in fact, hurt them. They also tend to inherently know random information. |
| Weaknesses | Entropic gnomes lose all connection to reality and fall into dangerous delusions over the course of their lives. |
| Rules | Entropic gnomes violate their three basic rules:
|
| Culture | Entropic gnomes live in small, chaotic villages along the seaside on rocky islands. These villages have a random assortment of entropic gnomes with different skills and insights, but most with an understanding of subatomic particles and their uses. They tend to be very technologically advanced in a patchwork sort of way; electricity alongside cruder materials, etc. Children are raised by whatever parent or guardian wishes to raise them, usually in an experimental fashion, and they learn on their own or through an apprentice-like process with someone wishing to barter teaching for some service. There is no real government in their societies; there is only rule by the whims of the powerful. The most powerful members of villages become local bully-lords who hire servants and enforcers to exploit the local population. Every year, on one special night, entropic gnomes renounce all forms of rule and law and go wild in their own streets. These riots often end with the local leaders dead or gone and a power vacuum to be filled within the following weeks. |
| Engineering | Entropic gnomes are skilled with quantum engineering. The most common uses for this are atomic and nuclear devices, dangerous experimental inventions, and advanced computer systems. They love working with ruby if they can, but anything will usually do. Their affinity for quantum mechanics and atomic physics is derived from their insights into entropy, and they often intentionally break rules so they can push limits. |
