The Prophets have gone to war.

Prophecy of the Worms

Prophecy of the Final Sword

A moment called the Advent of Chaos is fast approaching, and the Prophets of Shem seek to influence this moment.

Arcs:
1. Death of a Prophet:
Khalif Benin is found dead in Azet in a manner that suggests ancient, anti-fate powers were used not just to kill him, but to undo his own powers. Players would be members of the Court of Threads, agents of Aeonians, faithful followers of the Divine Seer, and local authorities working to find his killer.

PCs:

2. True Song:
A political struggle takes place between two Prophets, Wafi and Hu Kil, representatives of different Pantheons. One seeks to see Events that have been prophesied go unchecked, while another seeks to prevent them, a struggle over keeping a prophecy from being heard by a specific Aeonian. Players would be followers of Wafi, all avians or somehow connected to the Avian Beastiary. You may not play a chicken, Nathan.

PCs:

Vignette: A vision of a shimmering path between vast rivers.

3. The Lost Hand:
Arsul Toutant sits waiting in his spot in the Island Bridge for the time when his hand is returned. Though at times he leaves when Fate compels him, he always returns, and occasionally there he relates what he sees to those who seek him out and those who are his friends and those who simply show up to know. At times, agents of his longtime enemy, The Gentleman, attempt to disrupt him. Arsul knows that he must be present in his spot at a certain time on a certain day in order to influence the manner in which the Advent of Chaos occurs, and agents of The Gentleman are seeking to prevent him. Players would be allies of Arsul who are in conflict with The Gentleman's agents.

PCs:

4. Bootstrap Paradox:
Can someone who travels through time send themselves information in an infinite cause-effect loop? Members of the Court of Hours prevent this from happening as part of their mantinence of the flow of time, but followers of the Contradictor seek sometimes to disrupt their work and exploit this paradox (or wield its power). The Prophet (and God) of Hours has a team of elite watchers who prevent this from happening. Players would be watchers who are a member of this order, fighting a group of Contradiction Cultists seeking to send information back to cause a loop that will perhaps cause the Advent of Chaos.

PCs:

Vignette: A vision of a war in a bottle.

5. Unfettered Fate:
Jeshira, Queen of Holly, Consort to the Seer Divine, represents unfettered fate, uncontrolled, uninfluenced, unpreventable fate. Seeing the conflict arising around the Advent of Chaos, she is distraught to see her allies seeking to manipulate what is coming. She seeks to stop them, specifically, to stop Painsayer's agents and Hyradh's agents from killing or controlling the pregnant parent of a child that might be the source of the Advent of Chaos. Players would be her agents.

PCs:

6. The Lamp:
The Prophet-King Khiigharam rules a city-state of djinn, where fate is a plaything for powerful beings. He remains impassive, unmoved, disinterested in the Advent of Chaos except as an Event to foresee, but his follower belong to many different factions, politically scheming against one another. Players would be members of a faction of djinn seeking to control a special artifact called the Lamp that will bind other djinn, allowing their faction to defeat a rival faction.

PCs:

7. All Seeing:
The Spectacles of Prescience are a Gifted pair of glasses that allow the user to see the future. A group of mortals has found them, stealing them from a temple of the Seer Divine (OOC, the temple obviously allowed this for fated reasons). Each thief has made a pact to use them once, then sell them to the highest bidder. Players would play the thieves, each of which has already used the Spectacles. Players would write their characters, backstories, and what they saw, and the game would go from there.

PCs:

Vignette: A vision of childlike gods.

8. Oneiromancy:
The Prophetic Dream sends visions to sleeping beings that tells their future or the future of the world. He is deeply involved in faerie politics, and he has sent a message to a small group of faeries about an event that might affect the Advent of Chaos. Players would be those fey, trying to influence that event. Connects to the Indigo and Jasper game.

PCs:

9. Pipe Smoke:
Wylah Phareniis is the Oracle of Pipes, and she sees the future in the smoke of a calumet. The Advent of Chaos, she sees, will cause an ecological catastophe in some way, and her archnemesis, Lord Fhulgan Hrandamael, seeks to control the Advent for this reason, seeing a chance to destroy her. The two are at war. Players will be agents of Wylah and the Court of Pipes, seeking to preserve Nature itself. One PC must be a user of winds aether as a form of prescience.
