Motivations

Religion
  • Magic is the lifeblood of Shem. All connections and cycles use mana as their currency. To live in harmony with magic is to live in harmony with all of Shem.
  • Personal, spiritual growth is paramount. Everyone has moral right to develop spiritually.
  • Your affairs are your responsibility. The Goddesses will not help you if you don't ask. You create your own problems and solutions.
  • Mystery is the force that separates you from Mana and the Goddesses. At the same time, mystery is the force that defines your faith. You must transcend the barrier of mystery in order to grow spiritually.
  • To grow spiritually is to grow magically, and vice versa.
  • To understand Shem is to understand magic, and vice versa.
  • To understand yourself is to understand magic, and vice versa.
  • Embracing that which brings you closer to mana will produce spiritual growth. Immerse yourself in ritual. Find and swim within the cycles that surround you. Reflect upon yourself and gaze inwards. Strengthen and create new connections to help others grow.
  • Ours is the oldest religion-- the worship of Mana is the worship of everything. Much has been lost and hidden by mystery, but these laws all witches remember:
    • The number 3 is special and universal.
    • That which you put into the world shall return to you threefold. Therefore, do not harm, and you shall not be harmed. Live and let live. Help others grow and they will help you.
    • The worship of Mana is the worship of three Goddesses and their relation to each other.

Facets
  • For soulcasters, our magic is an expression of who we are.
  • Everyone deserves a second chance
  • I take responsibility for my actions
  • You can't change where you start in life, you can only choose your direction
  • I want to be better than my nature
    • I am not all bad! The tree said I was balanced!
    • Despite what I want, you can't change destiny.
  • I feel the loss of home deep in my soul.
  • I must do my part to preserve our race.
  • I must help keep everyone together.

Connections
  • PCs
    • Stasi (Pallanian) - She was the bravest among us, but now she is gone.
    • Shara (human) - A shadow of what Stasi was, but still discovering herself. I feel less connected to her now. Her transformation took her confidence. Useful when she is not a rabbit.
    • Nas (Kyellezhian) -
      • Oh Nas. He's unlike anyone I've ever met. At first I pitied his social awkwardness. Nas's mind just doesn't work the same as mine. He rarely has the appropriate emotional response to a situation, and he tends to think in a straight line. He tends to have a problem with anger when severely stressed that I can commiserate with.
      • I saw him in a new light though when he received his additional charge from the Goddess. His way of thinking has saved us many many times, and I think he sees some things more clearly than I do. He leads well when he's on the right track. I envy his ability to negotiate.
      • Nas's discovery of faith changed him, just as it changed me. I've never had someone I could share my experience of faith with. 3 e
    • Da’sabash (Insieli) - Stoic and steadfast. She is slow to make friends, but once she does make friends she will fight to the death for you. Very compassionate and patient under her hard facade.
    • Lamaera (Aboreal) - I don't think she likes me very much. I think she fears me. She calls me out on my faults and challenges my dedication to our task. Why do we hit each other's sore spots?
  • Traveling companions
    • Aleel'aqallah - She defines herself as an outsider. I feel sorry for her, I envy her.
    • Bullfrog - He was the heart of the troop, and now he is gone. Our days are shorter now, our nights longer.
    • Phalad'riel -- female, more religious than the others, sun faithful.
    • Khal'maqua
    • Ghef'fhardim
    • Varda'aralaas
    • Jesh'mali
    • Katha'ane
    • Mal'aquim
  • Lost Elves
    • Daenil (Dwonnic) - One of the most gentle and considerate elves I've ever met. I envy his ability to connect with people and lead them. He will make a fine Consequent.
    • Endhathef (Vewellian) - Charming, studious, quiet. He reminds me of my father. In many ways he's a better Valhonian than I am. He can't read me though, and I have trouble reading him.
    • Sorosiphina (Pallanian) - She was broken and severe when we found her. I think she hates me, pities me. I felt the same for her, but perhaps she's right.
    • Yloquith (Evernorth) - Quiet and measured. I envy her ability to study and learn, and in some cases I envy her dispassion.
    • Jheshemirath (Elder) - His racism cost us dearly. Still, I respect his willingness to sacrifice for the cause. Becoming a Consequent is worse than death, but in his case it might help make him whole again.
    • Notamit (Windkeep) - I envy the ability to get things done, to take action. I don't plan as well as I should. I envy the optimism.
    • Kohae'nuadhakiero (Qulargian) -
    • Noinalla (Kenenese) -
    • Rodaxana (Stonedelver) -
  • Other
    • Craiceann Gorm - Blue skin fae, a battle knight for the queen.
    • Kenos Andurian Elder elf time mage Rindacsa met
    • Wanaela of the Shemguard - The first consequent I have ever met. She made me fear becoming a consequent.
    • Karelinus - A nice man, and fair.
