Colors of Magic
The color of esoteric energies does not always match the colors produced when wielded magically (though it is not uncommon for them to do so). As it is blended with
mana, sometimes, the color of different effects varies. Thus, some have taken to defining magic by its perceived color:
White Magic
The energies that create a white hue when used with mana are
- [this space left intentionally blank]
- Arnum: the pale light of pain and torment
- The Bright: pure light captures all colors into a bright white light
- Curacion: the opalescence is a creamy off-white, but it lightens with mana
- Eldritch Energy: though the energy is bottle green, when mixed with mana, it becomes bone white
- Euphotonia: indistinguishable from the bright in terms of presentation
- Gossamer Light: spidweb-white
- Hollow Energy: chalky white
- Hvittdogg: white tinged with blue becomes just snowy white
- Drenante: sparkling white like diamond
- Poarta: the white of the death shroud
- Raesian Energy: bone-white
- Spirit Energy: the white which unifies all
- Stravomenos: chalky white
White magic is dominated by infernal energies, but it is associated with ruling classes. As such, it is legitimized and considered representative of law and order, purity, justice, and so on.
Pink Magic
The energies that create a red hue when mixed with mana
- [this space left intentionally blank]
- Bedrog: the "black" referenced in the name of the energy is a misnomer - black nommos contains all hues. It becomes pink when mixed with mana.
- Cu'ucuch'ik: almost red
- Mijjit: the color of flesh varies, of course, but becomes a soft pink when mixed with mana.
- Peccatum: sin energy retains its pinkness.
Another predominantly infernal hue, and one with few energies. It is rare and largely associated with sexual magic.
Red Magic
The energies that create a red hue when mixed with mana
Red mages have the most possible energies of any color mage. They are considered "power mages", as the infernal and shebvic energies dominate the color. Adding in fire and glory, and you have excellent combat mages.
Orange Magic
The energies that create an orange hue when mixed with mana
Orange mages are limited in their energies, but they tend to be aligned with resistance and liberation in the context of environmentalism. They are rare.
Brown Magic
The energies that create a brown hue when mixed with mana
Brown magic is extremely varied, and thus, its users tend to pick and choose which energies they focus on, especially since some are not compatible. They have a reputation for being hermits.
Yellow Magic
The energies that create a yellow hue when mixed with mana
- [this space left intentionally blank]
- Euskepsia: though a soft metallic grey in hue normally, it becomes bright yellow when mixed with mana
- Fate: darker brown when raw, lighter yellow when mixed with mana
- Hamasat al-Sahra: all tinges of brown leave and it becomes bright yellow when mixed with mana
- Infernum: sulfuric yellow
- Kiiric Yihi: all grey and white go away and it becomes yellow when mixed with mana
- Lhair: bright yellow light
- Ma'Dhahabi: golden yellow
- Tmakikan: golden yellow
- True Names: the multihued Names become yellow when mixed with mana
- Unfugl: golden yellow
- Vile Energy: sickly yellow, with none of the green left
Yellow mages tend to vary between which energy they align with due to the contradiction between some of their magicks. The most famous are the powerful ones who serve the ruling class and dominate with infernal energies, but some wield celestial or aetherial energies primarily. In fact, aetherial mages are more common, especially in the deserts, though less famous.
Green Magic
The energies that create a green hue when mixed with mana
Green mages are heavily dominated plant magic, whether aetherial or infernal.
Grey Magic
The energies that create a grey hue when mixed with mana
Grey mages are also extremely split. Most are infernal masters serving ruling powers, but some are aligned differently.
Blue Magic
The energies that create a blue hue when mixed with mana
Most blue mages focus only on unaligned powers, maybe adding conflueverant and desperation, but "true" blue mages are celestial mages of exceptional power, many of them undersea.
Violet Magic
The energies that create a violet hue when mixed with mana
Violet mages are heavily poioumenonic and focus on storytelling and meta-effects. They are often seen as frauds.
Black Magic
The energies that create a black hue when mixed with mana
Black magic is the most secretive and distrusted. Few dare admit they use it, and fewer still are allowed to.
Rainbow Magic
The energies that create multicolored magic when mixed with mana
Rainbow mages must follow strict rules about what they do, with the threat of cosmic retribution hanging over them. They are extremely rare.
