| Description | Deities appear to be anything they wish to appear to be, though they often have a primary form. Because they feed off belief, they usually make their primary form that of a species or nation of sentient, intelligent beings that they choose as their primary patronage, in order to facilitate easier belief and worship. |
| Procreation | Deities reproduce with one another or other Divines to produce new Divines, though this is rare, and the child's nation will follow the birthing parent. They can reproduce with any other living thing and produce Aeonians. |
| Esoterica | Deities are beings of paradox, empowered by it, which becomes ambrosia for them. This ambrosia is the core of their power, which they use via Divine will. They can use any other esoteric energy until such time as they take on an Aspect. Once they have an Aspect, they limit themselves to a set of skills, powers, and abilities defined by that Aspect. |
| Special Powers | Even before they have an aspect, all deities have Divine Will, which means their thoughts and will can alter reality. Once they have an aspect, they retain this, but it is narrowed to their Aspect. |
| Aspect | All deities take on an Aspect at the time they take on their first worshiper. Once they take on this Aspect, they gain extraordinary power in everything associated with that Aspect. Aspects can be very specific ("the smell of leaves after the rain") or broad ("life"), but what is associated with an Aspect varies on the beliefs of the deity's worshipers. |
| Gifts | Deities may create objects at will, but those objects they create with the intention of gifting them to mortality are called Gifts, and these Gifts have specific powers imbued both by Divine Aspect but also by the Law. |
| Belief | All deities need worshipers to live. They gain ambrosia from the actions of those that belief in them, even if those actions are not actions of worship. But worshipers produce enough ambrosia to sustain a deity. Acts of worship take many forms, but common among them are sacrifice, dedication, devotion, service, supplication, prayer, and ecstasy. |
| Court | Unlike with many mortals, knowing or using the True Name of a deity will not give one power over the deity, but the other way around. One who knows the Name of a Deity becomes their Secretary, and one who speaks it becomes their Dedicate. Deities may also Choose someone and make them their Chosen, and they may Choose someone or something to be their steed, or Vahana. They may gain a Champion (and relevant subsidiaries) from one of their worshipers if one of them passes a number of esoteric trials. |
| Weaknesses | Deities are weak to fuligin and blasphemy, and they can die if they lose all their worshipers. All deities are subject to Divine Law. |
| Behavior | Before they take on an Aspect, deities tend to be formless and wandering, using their variety of powers to interact with the world until someone witnesses their power and takes them for a God. At this time, they will hopefully gain a worshiper and take on an Aspect. Once they gain an Aspect, it wholly determines their behavior. A deity of life will sustain, create, and protect life. A deity of the smell of leaves after the rain will create petrichor, sustain it, and protect it, embody it, and by extension, embody the forest that creates it. |
| Religion | Deities rarely worship other deities, and their worship of themselves does not sustain them. However, they create religions in the minds of mortals, and thus become a part of that system. These systems of worship are determined by their Aspect, but they can vary from mortal to mortal or culture to culture or even community to community. |
| Mortal Interactions | Deities will use their power of Divine Will to reveal themselves to mortals, answer their prayers, and reward their service and sacrifice. Or they will use it to terrorize them, or to enthrall them. |
