| Philosophies | The universe is an illusion, the dream realm is a reflection of that illusion created to help us understand it. Dreams are sacred, nightmares are assaults on the dream realm. Surrealism is the waking world's attempt at emulating the dream realm, and therefore, it is sacred. Stories and tales are valued for their real but unreal nature. Since nothing is real, everything is possible. Sleep is sacred, for it brings us dreams, as are hallucinations. Every vision is a message of the true nature of things. |
| Afterlife | Followers of the Dreamfather believe that no one ever truly dies. The souls of the dead enter the Dream Realm, where they watch and tend the dreams of their relatives, often times guiding them. Eventually, they become the Dream of Themselves, explaining why they appear in Dreams long after they died. When all that knew them die, and thus no one can dream of them any longer, their dream forms become faded, and eventually, even the stories of them die out, and they are allowed to become one with the Dreamfather and earn Enlightenment. This is why legends and stories exist, to keep some dreams alive longer. Some stories resonate so powerfully that they become potent and living dreams, returning to life. |
