| Description | Svamps appear to be anthropomorphic fungi about 6" tall. Their soulmates, shamblers, appear to be masses of mobile vegetation. |
| Procreation | Svamps reproduce via sporing. Their soul mates, shamblers, reproduce via sporing, too. Every spore has a bound spore. |
| Magic | 1/200,000 svamps have heart or soul magic. 1/1000 shamblers have heart or soul magic. Mind magic & body magic are possible, but very rare, as is void. Faith is common. |
| Special Powers | Svamps & shamblers are connected via their souls, which are entwined. Thousands of svamps are bound to a single shambler. Svamps produce thousands of spores, which they use to communicate, reproduce, defend themselves, & lure food. Most beings larger than them who breathe air normally will become intoxicated off their spores. Shamblers like to set ambushes in deep swampwater, eating unsuspecting travellers. They have the ability to secrete corrosive chemicals to melt their prey, they can control fungi & cause them to grow, & they are immune to electricity. They are excellent swimmers. |
| Weaknesses | Nightmare magic or faith hurts them. If the shambler dies, the svamps dies. If the svamps dies, the shambler barely notices unless all the thousands of svamps bound to it die. Then it becomes just a mass of green fungal algae-like matter floating in the swamp, alive but unintelligent. |
| Culture | Svamps live on cypress trees, near their soulmates. They tend to be curious little beings that enjoy creating spores to do everything for them, luring over animals who will fall asleep & die, then rot & be eaten. (They are the dream component). Their soulmates, shamblers, live in deep swampwater, waiting for the right victim to come along. They engulf them, melt them, & absorb them. |
