The Pantheon of the Living World arose on Third Shem from the Divines determined to protect Mother Shem from the forces seeking to eradicate her. These were mostly in the Pantheon of the Viridian Pillar, but they became the Matriadoman, or protectors of Mother Shem, as certain Divines became strong enough to threaten her. The Pantheon of the Living World is non-hierarchical. All members have a role to play.

The Green Goddesses are the three goddesses of the plants, forests, flowers, and verdance of the world. They are bonded to the World Tree, Mother Shem's alternate self. They banded together to unite the Pantheon, bringing three Pantheons together. For a time, all three were one Pantheon, but others reverted to old roles. Nineteen remained. Two of the Green Goddesses, the Bringer of Spring and the Greenmother, are lovers, and the third, the Mother of Harvest, takes on a materteral role.

The Twins of Day and Night are the Divines of the Sun and the Moons, of Day and Night. They are sisters who protect the world and provide it with light. The Sentinels of the Cosmos are the four interstellar Divines, the ones who exist beyond the boundaries of Mother Shem, who guide her from afar.

The Protectors of the Land protect the plains, mountains, and caves. The Celestial Fathers protect the skies. The Water Protectors protect the waters and islands. And the Primal Brothers protect the beasts and flames.

Finally, the Ancient Ones are Mother Shem's most powerful protectors, the Mother of Life and Father of Nature, who embody the whole Pantheon. These two share Mother Shem's Name.

Above all, this Pantheon serves Mother Shem, and she is considered a part of it.
