| Description | Mavara are anthropomorphic blue leopards with jewels for spots. They have two sets of arms, long tails, and eyes of burning blue. They stand about 7' tall. |
| Procreation | Mavara reproduce only with one another or other mafi girma. The nation/species follows the birthing parent. They cannot reproduce with any others. |
| Esoterica | Mavara are beings of dumaqu. They can also wield radiant energies (euphotonia, euphoria, euphony, euskepsia, euergasia, curacion, yahas, glory, and liberation power), as well as Elysian essence. They sometimes use heghnic energies (hegnh, ancestral memory, banaru, iremia, ujjval aatma, lhair, or waarheid). Poioumenon, fortune, fate, blood energy, aifaellam, ashar, kazaddarean, nzwara murazvo, prasinofos, the bright, true shadow, lunar aether, conflueverant, dream energy, and lahab al-qalb are also common. |
| Special Powers | Mavara have the ability to dazzle others with the light from their jewels. They are extremely agile and strong, and they have empathic senses. Their breath will calm those it touches, including those overwhelmed by madness, baleblood, or other influences. The jewels in their fur can be given to another in order to empower them (if they feel any love at all). Their claws and teeth are very sharp, and their tail is prehensile. |
| Service | The mavara nation serves Kayan Ado, and as such, they can invoke her love for them by calling out the words Ayedeho Ohoro, which will invoke and effect reflecting Kayan Ado's will. |
| Weaknesses | Feirua burns them. |
| Culture | Mavara were born from the blood of Kayan Ado during the last War of the Gods, formed from her blood spilled when she was fighting Ghanalac, a masked Eldritch monstrosity. After the war, bereft and lost without their mother, they fled to the deep jungles near where they were born and formed a secret village in the canopies of the rainbow forests. Their city is a complex weaving of walkways, huts, branches, vines, bridges, hammocks, and nets. The Mavara nation is led by their Manifest, Uwa Jauhari, and the 36 original Mavara who were born directly from Kayan Ado's blood. They form the council of elders, though every so often, they will step off and let younger Mavara serve. Most Mavara serve the community as hunters, caretakers, or crafters, while the council of elders focuses on serving and finding ways to support or release Kayan Ado. Artists and weavers are also major roles in the community. Mavara spend most of their time making colorful works of art. Sex is a major part of the Mavaran culture. They express love openly, have no formal committed relationships, and only limit their sexual encounters to not include direct relatives, the nonconsensual, or children. Despite their frequent couplings, children are rare. When children are born, they are celebrated. The whole community celebrates pregnancy, birth, and the first birthday of the child, and they all take part in raising children. Children come of age at 20, at which time they are sent on a special hunt with their closest mentor. What they catch on their hunt determines their name, though it is always something indirect (i.e., one who catches an antelope might be named "Sauri," which means "fast"). Before this, their name is always "Yaro," which means "Child." It is very rare for their to be more than one child at a time, but if there is, they are numbered (i.e., "Yaro na Biyu" would be "Second Child"). If a child does not catch something on their hunt, they are named for their lack of a catch (for instance, they might be called "Yayi Barci" if they fell asleep). If someone finds their city, they welcome them with care and succor, but they discourage strangers from lingering because they have so often found that strangers distrust or misunderstand their ways. |
| Religion | Mavara serve their mother, Kayan Ado, and view their Manifest as her holy vessel. They worship the concept of love more so than they worship any Divine, though they respect the Beloved Divine and her allies in the Radiant Spectrum Pantheon. They view them as respected equals. Their philosophy is that love is the utmost emotion and power in the univese, and that one must experience and express it as often as possible, with profound respect and affection for all. Those who sew hatred and division are enemies of all life, and thus must be resisted. |
| Gender | Mavara recognize that gender is completely individual, and therefore, they only use people's names and gender-neutral pronouns for themselves, but outside their culture, they usually switch to fit other norms out of convenience. |
| Military | Mavara are all capable hunters and fighters, but have no formal military. |
| Other Nations | Though the Mavara are a nation of the mafi girma, there are no other nations of Mavara. |
| Outside View | Most have no idea they exist. Some that do think of them as angels or even Divines, but those who know and understand what they are either view them as allies in the fight against oppression and evil or enemies if they are evil. Those living near them sometimes speak of them as rainbow leopards. |
