Haran is the official leader of the Omri tribe of the Riverkin peoples. Though he worked as a soldier in his youth, he always had a passion for study, and he became a great scholar after his soldiering days were done.

During the Seven Upheavals, the Omri tribe was a constant supporter of the Old Order (the pre-Starfall Divine configuration), and therefore have a conservative reputation that is undeserved. Haran has worked his entire time as an Elder to combat that reputation, and his most recent progressive gesture--allowing a female Judge--has cause the tribe to fall out of favor with the moderate parties in the Hamwech. This shift has caused some concern in the tribe.
