The Green Grith

The Green Grith was founded by those who were fighting against the enclosures and loss of green spaces in their city, and they evolved into dedicated ecoterrorists. They target primarily the most pollutant factories, mills, and plants on the outskirts of the city, but they also strike at the owners living in their mansions, the pipelines, railways, and mines, and key political figures who oppose their work. They include other criminal activities in their work, but it all serves the purpose of supporting their war against industry and the ruling class.

Leadership

The Green Grith was founded by the Quaedam, a formerly enslaved revolutionary who is a witch of ancient powers, or so they say. She is a hardcore revolutionary, and she remains alive to this day. She considers herself only an adviser of the current Green Grith, but she is still active as an organizer and terrorist. Otherwise, the Green Grith has a horizontal hierarchy that is heavily democratic. Smaller groups operate as cells that have a mixture of criminal types within them, working toward a common goal. Some individual agents operate as well, answering to a cell they are affiliated with. Many members of the Green Grith do not know each other, as a security measure, but they have means of identifying one another if need be. However, while there is not a formal leadership, there are those who are more attuned to the more common elements, and these individuals, called "radicals", often have special objects passed around in the Green Grith.

Roles

Headquarters

The Green Grith keeps their headquarters in an overgrown part of a forgotten city park that is informally called the Bramblebed. This forest grove in the middle of the poor section of town is believed by most to be dangerous and filled with vermin, but it is actually a complex maze used by the Quaedam as the safe-house of the original cell that founded the Green Grith, protecting a pool of elemental chaos that gives her power.

Other cells house themselves wherever they may, usually some place with a connection to nature despite the city's toxicity. Not a pool but a pond. Not a tunnel but a cave. Not a park but a forest. Anything that is closer to nature than the city wants it to be can be converted to a safe space for the Green Grith's cells. On the outskirts of town, they have two secret farms.
