Djedhefhor Grimoire

A grimoire kept in the tomb of Djedhefhor, a pharoah-wizard of Azet, who collected all the spells of his kingdom.

Djedhefhor

Born to the royal family of Azet shortly before the wars against the Eldritch began, he took to study at a young age. As a member of the ruling class, he was able to spend his leisure learning as he pleased. Though his duties required him to study the arts of the pharoah, he became a wizard as well as he studied. But magic was not his true passion - knowledge was. He sought to collect all of the knowledge and lore of his kingdom, and so spent enormous amounts of the royal treasury building libraries. When he died, his grimoire was buried with him to honor his passion.

History

Thrice in known history have people tried to retrieve the grimoire from his tomb. The first time, the invader was a Dhunnic archaeologist who died of fever for his crime. The second was his grandson, who went in to avenge his father and met a much worse fate. The third time was a descenant of Djedhefhor, a woman named Meresankh, who copied parts of the grimoire and several other books in order to bring the knowledge back to the people. This has become the primer for magic in Azet, but the most powerful spells could not be copied before the power of the tomb forced her to flee. As it is the
