The Court of Gaia: sometimes called the Court of Shem or the Court of the Living World

Upon the formation of Third Shem, her nephesh, Mother Shem, dictated to the Divines their new Courts, in order to repair the hole left by the loss of the Arbiter as a leader of the Divine. She bid the celestial Divines split between those who would protect and those who would empower, and asked them to stand guard against the Eldritch and their servants (the infernal Divines), against which she was at war. She bid the unaligned Divines organize themselves and tend their spheres responsibly. And she big the aetherial Divines attend her and protect her and the world she was one with. As the war with the Eldritch came to an end, the Eldritch were sealed after many of the infernal Divines betrayed them in exchange for the right to exist on Third Shem. Those who remained loyal were weakened and driven back, but as Divines, their Court survived and began to return in hidden forms.

The Court of Gaia is Mother Shem's Court, the court of aetherial Divines, of nature and the Living World. She took the Creator Divine as her Consort, then called upon the Light and the Dark to protect the Court. And then she Divided the rest into separate domains:
  • Death tends to the end of life, the natural end of cycles and the beginning of new, the afterlife, souls, and death. Her domain is a unique one.
  • the Earthtends the soil, the crust, the caves, and the mountains. In his domain are other landforms.
    • the Plains tends the the open grasslands, the savannas, steppes, and fields. She tends the winds through the reeds, the damp earth beneath your feet, and the great stalks of grass that grow from within, but the core of her domain is the ground itself.
  • the Flametends the fires, the heat, the burning ash, the magma, and the blazes. In his domain are other sources of flame and heat:
    • the Desert tends the heat of the deserts and the dry winds, the sands and the sandstorms, the scalding aridity.
    • the Volcano tends the magma and lava, the volcanoes, and the islands they form, the regions they warm, and the tropical belt of the world.
  • the Greentends the plants and greenery, the verdance of the world. Her domain has many facets.
    • the Flower tends the flowering plants, the nectar and pollen, the spring time and the rebirth of flora. She is the Green's lover.
    • the Harvest tends the harvest season, the plants and animals of harvest, crops and livestock, herbs and vegetables and fruits to be eaten. She is bounty.
    • the Taiga tends the taiga, the evergreens and conifers, but also the autumnal plants with the changing leaves, petrichor, and the plants of colder climes.
  • the Livingtends life itself, the living beings, the vibrancy of the whole world.
    • the Beast tends to the animals, the beasts of land, sea, air, and more. His is an extremely varied and complex domain.
    • the Viridian tends the living things that do not fit flora, fauna, or fungus, and he tends the changing of the seasons, and the intersections of all domains with life.
  • the Seatends the waters, the oceans, the seas, the lakes, and the rivers. In her domain are other waterscapes:
    • the Swamp who tends the wetlands, the marshes, the bogs, the fungi, and the vibrancy within.
    • the Ice, who tends the tundras, the cold reaches, the glaciers, the ice caps, and the winter.
  • the Skytends the winds, the skies, the air itself. Within their domain are other windscapes and weather.
    • the Sound tends the vibrations in the air, sound and noise, hearing, and echoing.
    • the Storm guides the weather and tends the climate.
  • the Startends the stars and the cosmos, space and location, the astral and all within the immensity.
    • the Moons tend the three moons, their reflecting and the cold light, the night, and the lunar cycles. They tend the tides and that on Shem that responds to the moons.
    • the Sun tends the sun itself. the solar energies, the dawn and the day, and the warmth it brings. She is also guide to the summer.
    • Time tends time itself, the movement of, the flow of time, the passing hours and days, the counting of years, and the movements that define him.
  • the Veins tends the metals and mines, the salts and deposits, the ores. His is a unique domain.
the Dream often aligns himself with this Court, though he does not belong to it.

The mortal perceptions of these Divines is as follows:
  • 'Abad Zabad the Mountain Lord, is how the Earth is known. He is a stoic Divine who asks only that his followers respect the earth and stone that form the bones of the world. His followers have a great respect for their Divine and his dominion. His sphere is Earth, Stone, Mountain, Cave, and Tectonics.
  • Atua Motu the Archipelago, is how the Volcano is known. Associated more with islands than what births them, they are sometimes seen as a reflection of the world's feelings. Their followers dwell mostly in tropical islands and sail the seas around them, but some followers live anywhere there is a volcano or on islands far from the tropics. Their sphere is Islands, Volcanoes, and the Tropics.
  • Caelbewegt the Sky God, is how the Sky is known. They are seen as the world's thoughts. They are worshiped in many guises, whether as the ruler of the sky, of birds, or of specific winds. Their sphere is Wind, Air, Sky, and Flight.
  • Cipriere Dieu the Swamp Lady, is how the Swamp is known. Her followers are dwellers within the great wetlands, mostly, who honor the life there. She is often depicted as a crone. Her sphere is Swamp, Wetland, and Fungus.
  • Dach-Lzolctle the Dark One, is how the Dark is known, if known at all. They are mostly worshiped by those who dwell deep underground, in total darkness, though they can be found in deep waters, dense forest, and even on moonless nights. Their domain is Darkness, Shadow, and Night.
  • Ehonon the Beast, is known as many different beasts. His followers view him (or her, or them) as the animals they most connect with (or are). The primary followers call him Ehonon, the Beasts, and honor all the animals, but some see him as a great bird, or a specific octopus, or an individual lion, etc. His sphere is Beasts, Fauna, Animals, and Wilderness.
  • Emblaien the Harvest Mother, is how the Harvest is known. She is honored specifically around the time of the Harvest, and she is seen as a tender of the seasons as much as the crops. Her domain is Harvest, Bounty, Gratitude, Food, Sustenance, Livestock, Crops, Herbs, and Farming.
  • Emelcuil the Silver Mother, is how the Living is known. She is considered a Mother Goddess, and one who protects life itself in every form. She is honored first amongst the elves, but she is worshiped in many variations around the world. Her domain is Life, Living, Vibrance, Birth, and Blood.
  • Gadzira is how the Creator is known. He is said to be the one who fashioned the universe itself, though this is disputed even by some of his followers. He is seen in many variations around the world, and sometimes conflated with or combined with other Divines. His sphere is Creation, Creativity, the World, and Making.
  • Hamsat Baeida the Desert Song, is how the Desert is known. She is a Survival Goddess, one who guides those lost within her sands, and one who can turn angry at a moment's notice. She is worshiped primarily by those living in deserts, and sometimes seen as an adversarial Divine. Her sphere is Desert, Sand, Mirage, and Oasis.
  • Jalib al-Fajr the Sunbearer, is how the Sun is known. She is not the Sun itself, but rather, the one who carries it across the sky (on barque or chariot or her back or by bird). She is worshiped in deserts, where her fires are relentless, and around the world in various guises. Some consider her a masculine Divine, and others say no gender at all. Her sphere is Sun, Dawn, Day, and Summer.
  • Mati, Devica, Krona the Moon Sisters, is how the Moons are known. These three Goddesses are a quintessential Mother, Maiden, Crone trinity and the primary worship of witches. They are reflections of the Moons they represent. Their sphere is Moons, Lunacy, Reflection, Cycles, and Night.
  • Mitera ton Alogon the Horse-Mother, is how the Plains are known. She is seen as a Teaching Goddess, who gave horses to mortals to ride, and who guides them through the vast grasslands. Her sphere is Plains, Grasslands, Horses, Sussuration, and Open Spaces.
  • Nar'allah the Fires of God, is how the Flame is known. He is heat and fire. He is associated with smiths, though not as much so as the Smith, and he is honored through burnt sacrifices. His sphere is Fire, Heat, and Passion.
  • Nbt-Hwt, Death Herself, is how Death is known. She is a psychopomp who guides the dead to their next realm. She is worshiped around the world in different ways, but her representations are the most consistent of any Divines. She wears white, carries a key, and is considered stoic. Some few do view her as merciful, while many fear her. But she comes for all. Her sphere is Death, Spirit, and the Afterlife.
  • Prasini Mitera the Green Mother, is how the Green is known. She is Goddess of All Plants, and she is strongly associated with forests. Hers is a nature religion, one focused on the cycles thereof and the alternation of generations of plants. Her sphere is Wood, Flora, Plants, Greenery, and Verdure.
  • Qeeridajjham the Immensity, is how the Star is known. They are worshiped on Shem as a guide, an astrological figure; on the Moons as a cross between that and a representation of their orbits; and in space as an all encompassing entity. Their sphere is Stars, Cosmos, Space, Location, and all that exists in outer space beyond Shem.
  • Sedeia the Lightbringer, is how the Light is known. She is worshiped primarily around Lesedi, where her vast mirror is, but she is known throughout the world, seen as an origin of all things or as a revealer. Her sphere is Light.
  • Shijie de Mailuo the Smith, is how the Veins are seen. He is a worker of metal, and those who do the same honor him. Miners are also frequently worshipers, as he guides them to the veins of rich metals. His sphere is Metal, Smithing, Ores, Salts, and Mines.
  • Soemor the Sea Goddess, is how the Sea is known. She is Goddess of all waters, and thus sometimes is a River Goddess or a Lake Goddess, or even the Rains. Sailors love her, hate her, fear her, and honor her. She is very temperamental. Her sphere is Water, Sea, River, Lake, Rain, Sailing, and Swimming.
  • Tacke av Love the Sweet Petrichor, is how the Taiga is known. She represents forests, whereas the Green is associated with them but represents plants more widely. She is associated with both deciduous and coniferous trees, but popularly her primary domain is the cold taiga. Tropical forests are more the Archipelago's domain. Because she is Goddess of forests in temperate and boreal climates, she is Goddess of forests that change colors, which brings her dominion over Autumn. Her sphere is Petrichor, Taiga, Evergreen, Autumn, and Chill.
  • Tavaszi Leanyzo, the Flower Lady, is how the Flower is known. She is Goddess of Spring in most cultures. She represents youth, blossoming, and renewal. Her sphere is Flower, Spring, Renewal, Youth, and all things floral and young.
  • Trueno Arrollador the Sweeping Storm, is how the Storm is known. He is the Weather God, the one responsible for storms and clemency. He is often given high rank in mortal perceptions of the Divine. His sphere is Storm, Weather, Climate, and Patterns.
  • Udraqes, Father Time, is how Time is known. He is seen as an aloof, stoic, untouchable, unknowable Divine who merely watches and counts. His followers are mostly Chronurians, who emulate him. His sphere is Time, Ages, Clocks, and Patience.
  • Vetrarmothir, the Winter Mother, is how the Ice is known. She is Goddess of all cold things, of snow and ice, and of Winter. Primarily, she is seen as the bringer of Winter. Her sphere is Ice, Snow, Winter, Cold, Boreal, Arctic, Snowcaps, and Glacier.
  • Viridanor the Ern, is how the Viridian is known. He is seen as a great bird that brings the changing of the seasons and cycles of life. He is both plant and animal. He is worshiped by druids, who see him as the head of all the aetherial gods, which they serve. His sphere is Nature, Seasons, and Cycles.
  • Volvebatur the Resounding, is how the Sound is known. They are worshiped by few, mostly those who listen closely. His sphere is Sound, Vibration, and Hearing.
