| Description | Natural born werefoxes bear a striking resemblance to their animalsake in their human form. In mixed form, they appear to be anthropomorphic foxes, but they usually use their normal fox form. |
| Procreation | With each other, for more werefoxes. Normal foxes can become werefoxes through magical means. |
| Magic | One in a million have soul magic. One in a million have heart magic. Mind magic is possible. Body magic is very effective. Void is possible. Faith is not uncommon. |
| Special Powers | Werefoxes can shift form between "human," fox, and mixed forms. Each form has advantages: "human" form blends with society, fox form has all the advantages the fox has (keen smell & hearing, small size, ability to see into dreams), and the mixed form combines the two. Werefoxes get more beautiful the longer they keep from eating meat of any kind, and if they eat intelligent flesh, they become trapped in the werefox form and go mad. Werefoxes can absorb sunlight or moonlight and use it to power small glamours, appearing like other people they have seen before, but only briefly. Werefoxes have heigtened smell and hearing and weak resistance to sleep. They are very skilled at dream-vision and tend to be somnolant. If a wound is not made by birch or tungsten, it will heal quickly. They are extremely resistant to disease and poisons. Werefoxes also have the ability to control foxes, calling them with their sharp bark. |
| Weaknesses | Silver, magic, or faith is required to kill a werefox. Nightmare/darkness magic or faith is especially effective. |
| Culture | The first werefoxes were normal foxes who lived for 1,000 years. Every year, they would gain more power, one through stealing the breaths of intelligent beings, the other from drinking the essence of the sun and moons. In their thousandth year, they gained the ability to turn into a human. One of them was an evil man, and he turned to eating people's hearts and livers. For his crime, he was turned into a fox-monster. The other was a kindly woman, and she sought to learn of the human ways of love. And so, all modern werefoxes will go mad and be trapped as fox-monsters if they eat intelligent flesh of any kind, and if they abstain from meat all together, they become more and more beautiful. Werefoxes are cunning beings. They live in small tribes around the world, and they are known for being shrewd. They are revered for their dream-vision powers, and encouraged to never shift to human form. Werefox tribes live all over the world. They include the Lohanese [Bengal] in Et'Loh in Dabusen; the Western Matian [Blanford's]; the Majonese [Tibetan]; the cama werefoxes in aouthern Taggarus; the steppe werefoxes across Dabusen; the fennec wererfoxes in the Desert of the Winds; the kit werefoxes of Ma-e; the pale werefoxes of the Taggaran savannas; the red werefoxes all over the world (Ranu, Jesenya, Lyrilla, Palhur, Taggarus, and Dabusen); the sand werefoxes of northwestern Taggarus; the swift werefoxes of Ma-e; the Tenzanese, Uroese, and Unbulese werefoxes; the Ciceran werefoxes; the dread werefoxes of Arunel; the bright werefoxes of Azar; and the Pandemonian werefoxes. |
