Old page, for reference until I am done making the new page:

Technically, therianthropy is a disease, a bacteria created by the Father of Pestilence, that becomes part of the cells of a living thing & gives it powers & weaknesses. It can be spread through the bite of a therianthrope, but most races are resistant or immune--very few can have true therianthropy. True therianthropy is the condition where the afflicted can change into animal & animalman shapes & is affected into madness by the full moons, & has a weakness to silver.

When most non-humans are infected by the disease, they simply go mad upon the full moon. This is the exact definition of a lunatic.

Given that there are 3 moons on Shem, each therianthrope has a different lunar cycle they follow. The moon that affects them is the one that was full first after they were born/infected.
