The feudal ruling classes are holding on as the merchant classes rise. A series of major events and minor events have become mixed and Fragmented in this time period as peasant rebellions become common inland and the seas become home to explorers and rich, powerful companies. The titular merchant prince is Theodore Monsapple, who has a hand in all of the moments. They are all wound up with one another.
  1. Monsapple in Merukis: Theodore Monsapple travels to Merukis in order to start his trading company. If he fails to do so, history will be irrevocably altered in terrible ways. He must also meet and avoid being killed by Carlotta Littany, and he must keep from being caught making a deal with one of two major criminal factions.
  2. The Spicer Highway: The spice merchants who maintain the seaways between Dabusen and Jesenya have formed an uneasy alliance, the start of their legendary guild. A vital shipment from Odesen must reach Demopolis in two months' time, with a stop-over in Kyrestia.
  3. Kesanese Spire: The Kesanese merchant-empire operates out of a spire in the Wyren Ocean that rises above the waves and rests below them. Ships sail through the massive arches of the spire, restocking so they can make the long voyage west. A famous attempted sabotage called the Metherin Incident was carried out by a group of desperate nobles who felt the growing trading was a threat to their hold of power in their home kingdoms (Kerupen, Ledea, Tienos, and Mylith). They hired a brown alchemist named Beloquot to do it. The sabotage must fail.
  4. Revolt in Bewindla: The peasants of Bewindla and Dhun were among the poorest in the world. They banded together in a massive rebellion that threatened to spread through Jesenya and Lyrilla. The revolt was brutally put down by a group of knights known to history as the White Battalion. This historical event must be altered so that certain figures who did not survive manage to survive, the revolt is defeated but not as brutally or totally, and the Battalion is decimated.
  5. The Ports of Gamayaran: The ports of Gamayaran are some of the richest in Dabusen, and the fading royal family is in a desperate struggle to maintan relevance and power as the merchant class rises. They pass a series of incredibly restrictive laws, taxes, and tariffs. The merchants rebel, and they bring with them the peasants and workers. Meanwhile, a criminal enterprise of powerful drug merchants is vying for power as well. This cocktail of political and class struggle is the setting of the Gamayaran Revolution, considered the birth of capitalist democracy in Dabusen and the mortal world. Two months of time are the crucial fragments that must be carefully guided.
  6. Winchester Core: The Winchester Steel Corporation controls the railroads through half the world. They even have rails going into the Subterranean Realm, where they control a number of important mines. The most important is called the Winchester Core, which is also where their headquarters are. At the Core Mine (as it is also known), Crutinney Winchester, a spelunker gnome who was infused with brown aether in a mining disaster, runs the company and seeks to use the quicklead being mined in part of the Core Mine to build a special weapon. History tells that Crutinney died at the hands of striking miners. Because of the Fragmentation and his corrupted powers, he has the chance to befoul time itself instead. He must be stopped.
  7. The Through-Elevator: An elevator is built connecting Raam Daldar in Ansulym and Malhuin in Palhur through the Subterranean Realm. This technical marvel is controlled by the Winchesters as well. History tells that the elevator was shut down after too many failures after about 35 years. Fragmentation means it must be preserved, however.
  8. Shadow of Alkor: The City Under the Stairs is under the Alkor Stair, a massive stair connecting levels of the Subterranean Realms. The city is a major industrial haven run by the stiegerians. It is a hub of trade, of moving materials, and of production. It is also a center of the labor struggle. A group of workers has seized control of one of the largest rail stations in the world there, and history says they are to be disrupted, betrayed, arrested, and executed as terrorists. Fragmentation says five of them must be saved, five must die, and one must be recruited.
  9. The Great Earthquake: An earthquake rips half of Ansulym and the realms beneath it apart. The wake of this massive disaster sees rioting, rebellions, assassinations, acts of desperation, acts of sacrifice, acts of kindness, and acts of cruelty. History says this event is a turning point in the consolidation of the wealth of certain figures in Ansulym, especially a mammon demon named Horocluzin. Fragmentation has threatened her life, and history requires she survive.
  10. Master of Behemoths: In Wymmera, a figure named Luhorrgh has led an army against the expanding rail companies. He is known as the Master of Behemoths because he rides one. In history, he was defeated by a group of soldiers known as the Eighth Rifle Brigade, a group of mercenaries hired by a major trading consortium. Players must investigate how the Fragmentation has affected this and make a determination.
Theodore Monsapple, Carlotta Littany, and various criminals and other figures are recruitable. Carlotta already seems to understand the Fragmenting of time when met. She has a littany metal necklace. Only one Winchester should survive this period.
