The Death of Magic is when the three Goddesses of Magic were assassinated by the Champion (and Hand of the Champion) of the Void during a tournament of magic users in the Arena in Kren'atan in late Second Shem. In this fragment of time, major events act out in four loops:

1. Magitech Arena: a group of magic users wins the tournament, the Goddesses appear to reward them, and a rod of zantastanax a mile long is launched from space, slamming into the arena, killing everyone there, including the Goddesses.
2. Monsapple Reckoning: Pipper Monsapple, a pop star heiress to the Monsapple Trading Company, which controls a huge part of the world, confronts her brothers, two embezzling, violent, nefarious figures who have destroyed the company's finances. In this moment, Pipper is assassinated, despite intervention by Emil Haugaard. In this moment, a Gifted Sword is broken and as magic is abolished, the mansion collapses. History as it is known shows that Pipper survived and her brothers were slain, but Emil's fate is not recorded anywhere.
3. Ethereal Rebirth: In the City Under the Stair, a Spicers Guild agent breaks open the source of ethereal essence and causes the energy to bond everything within the City together into an unfathomable being called the Stiegerian Colossus.
4. Teloxiq Station 1: The space station where Teloxiq Tech is headquartered is the source of the launch of the zantastanax rod. History shows that the Goddesses of Magic were revived, but in this loop, the Hand of the Champion is able to fire a second shot to kill them permanently. History as it is known says that Hand of the Champion of the Void is killed only after she launches the first rod.
