Unaligned Plant Folk
Anthropomorphic plants with inherent unaligned powers.

Kunaran
Anthropomorphic carnivorous plants.
- Lifespan: 70-100 years
- Diet: Meat
- Habitat: Temperate forests
- Socioeconomic Status: Privileged oppressed
Kunarans are 6' tall anthropomorphic carnivorous plants.
Kunarans are trappers. They lie in wait for prey and snap them into their mouths, where they trap them and dissolve them for food. They can sense prey (by heartbeat or their blood) from a great distance, and they have extreme patience. They can also speak to plants and can paralyze prey with a touch once a week.
Kunarans live in trapping communities in distant lands. They trap enough for themselves and then trade the rest for necessities. They are led by an elected leader, but it’s always very loose. They tend to favor working on their own and coming together occasionally, usually to celebrate or commemorate something important. They often work for imperials.

Mabaya
Plant people whose wood is imbued with faith.
- Lifespan: 200 years
- Diet: Photosynthesis, nutrients, water
- Habitat: Forests
- Socioeconomic Status: Privileged oppressed
Mabayas are 7' tall plant people with camphor berry skin, leaf hair, and pulpy bodies. They have six limbs, the middle limbs being usable as either arms or legs. They have four faces, one on each side of their heads.
Mabayas’ bodies are faith made physical. Their strength is their faith, the grow on faith, and they have powers from faith. If they have a spiritual practice, faith, or religion, they gain powers specific to that belief system. They can absorb esoteric attacks that are not faith-based, but only a little bit.
Mabayas worship a Divine Tree called the Titafitu, a representation of Divine power and the universe, whom they believe connects all things. They believe in connectedness and causation as the primary forces that drive everything, and their culture reflects this. Their leader is the Kuhanku, a holy figure who carries seeds from the tree, and they believe that it is their task to plants those seeds around the world.
Imperials tolerate them so long as they are not in places with religious restrictions.

Parakhyo
Clear-leafed plant people who experiment with their forms.
- Lifespan: 200 years
- Diet: Photosynthesis, nutrients, water, energies
- Habitat: Tropical regions
- Socioeconomic Status: Privileged oppressed
Parakhyos are clear-leafed, 5' tall plant people with body parts that can be swapped around to find the optimal shape for a situation.
Parakhyos move their leaves around to optimize how much light and energy pass through them. They experiment with formations their whole lives in order to get the right configuration. They can also swap their arms, legs, and heads around. They can analyze the results of any configuration and make minute adjustments easily. Once they have a configuration they like, they absorb light and energies and build up magical power that allows them to create various beams of energy.
Parakhyos are scientists living in tropical regions. They dwell in deep rainforests, living in experimental buildings designed of wood and stone that interweave with the trees, their canopies, their roots. They are partly underground, partly rising above the trees, and often oddly sideways. They are led by councils of leading scientists who compete for the positions. Imperials use them for their knowledge.

Ummattacaxa
Cycad people who can alter their forms.
- Lifespan: 70-150 years
- Diet: Photosynthesis, nutrients, water
- Habitat: Tropical regions
- Socioeconomic Status: Privileged oppressed
Ummattacaxas are 6' tall, very round shrub people with spiky fronds for hair, cycad-like bodies, and huge faces that sit low.
Ummattacaxas can alter their bodies, moving their faces around, moving parts of their bodies around (especially arms and legs), and so on. They often turn their faces around by moving the face and not their body, for example. They can create small pods that, if eaten, turn the eater into wood, and if they touch someone for more than five minutes, they know the general outline of their entire anatomy.
Ummattacaxas live in small communities in distant lands. They build complex structures to dominate their towns and cities, and they are led by the strongest among them. They are very into contests of athleticism and learning medicine for other species. They are very scientific. Imperials often exploit them for their powers.
