Aitvarases are nature spirits who look like white or black chickens or roosters. They have a fiery tail like a comet. They hatch from eggs fertilized by ancient mundane roosters. When they die, they turn into a cloud of flame and sparks. They can make themselves look like dragons temporarily. They like to sleep in families' homes, refusing to leave. They will help and harm a house; some bring trouble, some bring stolen goods, and some bring better times.
