Cikavac

A Murjan bird with a long beak and a pelican-like sack. They hatch from the eggs of black hens carried under the armpit of a woman for 40 days, so long as she did not confess to an imperial church, cut her nails, wash her face, or pray to an imperial deity. Cikavacs suck honey from beehives or milk from cows to bring to them one who hatched them, and they give their hatcher the ability to speak to animals. They serve the one who hatched them, doing various tasks and trying to grant wishes within their power. They do this for as long as their hatcher keeps them fed and happy, or for a year and a day. After they leave, they leave to cause trouble.
