Femmes Mortes

Undead women whose undeath is tied to their gender.

Akuserka

A midwife who became undead for harming or killing children when she was alive, she now seeks children to drain the souls from to sustain her undeath. The flesh from their faces is gone and they have long, worm-like tongues. They can be released from undeath by the love of a child, but this is considered too dangerous. Most send them away via magic, silver, or faith.

Ard Gear

Undead menywod, bean siths, or other "wailing women" who have retained their voices, become phantasmal, and feel only pain. They died alone and isolated, and now they seek a connection, but their shattering voices harm everyone they try to get near. They can be sent to the afterlife with a gesture of love, a beautiful song, or magic.

Golgyonmerch

Women whose jealousy got them killed and turned into undead, ravenous women who seek the flesh of those they once envied. They have huge, wide tongues that drip green venom, eyes that roll around their heads, and thorny tendrils that come out of their orifices. They can be killed with fire, mirrors, silver, or magic.

Lady in Red

A ghostly woman in red, a vain woman, sometimes murdered by a lover she hurt. They are often mournful or vengeful, carrying the weapon used to kill them. This same weapon can send them to the afterlife.

Pasvisager

Women who died due to arrogance, vanity, or pride; in their downfall, they dragged others down with them, and now they are a phantasmal figure with many forms, turning their arrogance into folly. They are trapped in their own minds, believing themselves still alive, seeking to harm those who they feel insulted them in life. They refuse to accept their undeath, even if they walk through solid matter. If this delusion can be broken, they will move on.

Prizrakzhen

Former necromancers who performed a terrible rite to become undead; the specific rite turns them into the prizrakzhen, turning them entirely grey and giving them many new magicks of undeath and corruption, but also making them slowly flake away into a grey powder. They are weak to water.

Vyuchat

A woman who, in life, killed other women for power, vyuchati now exist as phantasms with their entire torso missing except a bare spine, their legs shriveled, and their arms twisted into serpentine, broken forms. They are poisonous to the touch, and their eyes are empty sockets that see power. They can be sent to the Beyond by binding them in the hair of someone they killed.

Webstrix

Manipulative women who died caught in a web of their own lies; they come back covered in gossamer made of light, attempting to control those they once tricked and deceived, but unable to be heard. Instead, they touch only the souls around them, slipping small slivers of the magic from people, until they are strong enough to become corporeal and much more dangerous. They can be sent to rest via fire, silver, magic, or speaking their names backward into a jar of olive oil.

White Lady

The phantasmal form of a woman who died from murder, suicide, accident, or from being abandoned, but in all cases ultimately caused by some injustice. They now seek to inflict that injustice back on the world.
