Sirin

Sirins are spirits with the body of an owl and the head of a female-assigned human. Their voices are beautiful and reward the virtuous. They often wear a nimbus of light, and they foretell good fortunes for people who sail near them. Some might be overwhelmed by their voices and follow them, but if they tried to enter her domain, they would die. Some would block her voice with loud noises. The sirin weeps in the apple orchard the morning before her cousin the alkonost arrives.
