Celestial Makers
Those who make things with celestial magic.
Euphotowicker
Type: Chandler
A euphotowicker is a chandler who makes candles that burn with celestial light.
To a euphotowicker, making candles is not a craft, but an artform. As they make their candles, as they learn to make artful and intricate and beautiful candles, they learn how to recognize when they are touched by inspiration and celestial light. Every act of creativity and art generates a tiny bit of this light, and a euphotowicker knows how to capture it and use it for their next work.
Euphotowickers work differently than other wielders of celestial light, as their candles are designed to unleash large amounts of celestial light to inspire others. They work their wondrous or awesome candles, and they often give them away (or sell them for a reasonable or low price). The art that the candles inspire then brings light back to the euphotowicker, if they have made the candles correctly.
To be able to make the these, they must believe truly in the power of art to inspire and move people, to create change in the world. They must work to make this true, to create things that they believe will do this - candles or other arts - and they must learn to see the shimmer of celestial light that is formed in every artwork. They capture it in a small prism or crystal. They then take this light and mix it into every candle they make, storing it in tiny crystals amongst the wax and wick.
Their candles have different properties, depending on which fragment of light they choose to use:
- Crystalwhite candle: pure inspiration, awe, or wonder or sculpting inspiration
- Scarlet candle: bravery and performance inspiration
- Fulvous candle: defiance and street art inspiration
- Saffron candle: wisdom and literary inspiration
- Emerald candle: harmony and musical inspiration
- Sapphire candle: love and poetry inspiration
- Lavender candle: joy and painting inspiration
- Ebon candle: hope and drawing inspiration
They may also try to combine these into interesting mixtures.
Euphotowickers are welcomed in Vsemy and Jedinstven but criminalized in imperial lands.

Impaler
Type: Woodworker
Impalers are those who make stakes out of celestial wood for killing vampires and other undead.
Celestial wood comes in three forms: from plants from the Celestial Realms, from plants infused with celestial power or spirits, and from plants cultivated by the people. An impaler is able to work with any of these kinds of wood, but the most common they find is the last one.
To learn how to work with celestial wood, one must learn how they are interconnected with other people. They must understand the metaphorical tree of society, how every member of the community is connected, how classes, species, occupation, gender, and other aspects of society are connected, how everything ties together. They must have a keen class consciousness and will to fight oppression, exploitation, and abuse. If they truly understand this, they are worthy of working the wood, and it will respond to it.
While learning the power of celestial trees, they also learn carpentry and woodworking, and they are as able at building with it as carving with it. But with their consciousness of the way the world works, they are devoted to fighting the powers-that-be. Specifically, the literal vampires sucking the blood of the people.
Thus, they learn the lore of the undead and how to fight them. They learn the weaknesses of vampires, and the best woods to use to kill them. And they learn to fashion special stakes for every occasion.
For a list of celestial trees, click here. An impaler will have access to some of these, and if they cannot find magical trees, they can infuse a mundane one with the popular magic of their labor.
- Infuse stake: they may carve a mundane stake and infuse it with popular magic.
- Sharpen stake: they may sharpen a mundane stake to a magical point.
- Carve weapon: they may carve supernaturally powerful weapons out of celestial wood.
- Leaf shield: they may turn a celestial leaf into a medium-sized shield.
- Barkskin: they may turn their skin hard as bark but malleable as flesh.
They are connected to the trees they work with and can draw on them for magic. They are highly criminalized in imperial lands.

Lutkaproiz
Type: Dollmaker
A lutkaproiz is a person who makes what are known as milost-lutka, or mercy dolls. A mercy doll is a magical doll that is a companion to those who need relief from life’s pains. A mercy doll absorbs pain, but does not heal bodies. However, if given to a source of life’s pains, it may have other effects.
To make a milost-lutka, one must live up to the virtue of mercy. One must believe in it and practice it everywhere possible. They must strive always to choose the option of forgiveness, mercy, or redemption over punishment, anger, or harm. No one is perfect, but a lutkaproiz seeks to achieve something close to it in terms of living up to the virtue. If they achieve something close, they begin to have magical abilities.
Once they are in a state of supernatural mercy, they can infuse that mercy into their work. They are always dollmakers, as this is the tradition in Jedinstven, and the work is passed down generation to generation. They learn dollmaking in various forms - carving them from wood or stone, stitching them from cloth, stuffing them with various materials, crafting them lovingly in different shapes, even sometimes casting them in metal. But they always use the power of mercy in their work, making something soothing and kind.
A mercy doll will have three properties:
- Pain-eating: the mercy doll will absorb the pain of those who hold them, relieving the symptoms of injury, illness, or trauma.
- Softness: the mercy doll will provide a source of comfort for those experiencing a traumatic event or other painful event, helping them get through it with minimal trauma.
- Merciful chill: the mercy doll will unleash all the pain they have absorbed, all the fear and trauma, all the rage and defiance, all the damage they have taken in, on those who caused the pain, if given the chance.
Depending on the bearer of the mercy doll, it may or may not come alive and speak to them. If the bearer thinks of it as a more literal friend or companion and speaks to it, it might respond. This is especially true of sick children who respond better to an imaginary friend. If this happens, they will operate as an independent character capable of combat, minor magic, and pain alleviation spells.
The lutkaproiz can infuse the dolls they make with mercy, but they can also wield their magic in other ways:
- Merciful creation: they can infuse mercy into the dolls they make, giving them the properties listed above.
- Soul reprieve: they can infuse part of their soul into the soul of someone on the brink of death, ensuring they pass on safely without fear of undeath or eternal damnation.
- Alleviating smile: they may smile upon someone in pain if they do not have a doll to give them, giving them temporary relief from pain.
- Final relief: four times they can place their hands upon the face of someone who is a purveyor of pain and misery and kill them instantly.
- Virtuous perfection: once they have killed four purveyors of violence and provided relief and mercy via over 101 dolls, they may enter this state. Though it will kill them, they will temporarily be able to heal every victim of oppression, exploitation, or abuse within a mile.
Lutkaproizi are criminalized in imperial lands and feared even in other lands. They are seen as witches or evil sorcerers and often burnt at the stake. Many are women, as it is a role often associated with them, but anyone can be one. They are honored in Jedinstven.

Strelec
Type: Fletcher
A strelec is a fletcher who makes arrows for the Sacred Hunt. They provide these arrows to mundane hunters to help ensure they are true to the tenets of the Sacred Hunt, and to help them bring back a good catch to feed the community.
To become a strelec, one must attune to the Sacred Hunt. The Sacred Hunt is more than mere survival, more than predator and prey, but rather, hunting with a consciousness, hunting knowing how to show deep respect for the prey, for the cycles of life, and for justice itself. Never over-killing, always using every part of the prey, and killing those among the prey that are a threat to the prey's survival as well.
As such, a strelec attunes to the prey of the Sacred Hunt, traditionally symbolized as deer. They spend a week in the wilderness with a herd of deer, living as one, and being hunted by other strelec or actual hunters of the Sacred Hunt. They must be caught toward the end of the week, trussed up, and carried back. They are then washed in blood and clean water, given a special hallucinogen, and have a vision in which one of the spirits of the Sacred Hunt will come to them (if they are worthy). The one who comes to them teaches them how to fletch the arrows of the Sacred Hunt instead of just mundane arrows (which they are already good at).
The spirits will be one of the following:
- White Fawn: newborn innocence
- Dappled Pricket: the dancing child
- Golden Calfe: the eyes of the young
- Silver Brocket: the vibrant adolescent
- Blue Doe: the prey
- Red Hart: life lived
- Brown Hind: maturity and parenthood
- Old Buck: elder wisdom
- Black Stag: death and the hunt
The spirit will reflect the strelec’s background, personality, and behavior. If they are young and kind, they might get the White Fawn. If they are a deadly and able hunter, they might get the Black Stag. If they are a mature and thoughtful person, it might be the Brown Hind. If they are older and wiser, it might be Old Buck. And so on.
The strelec can then make the following kinds of arrows. The one attuned to their specific spirit will be stronger than the others:
- White-fletched: an arrow that cannot harm children or young animals, but has bonuses against those who have harmed a child.
- Dapple-fletched: an arrow that has bonuses against those who bring despair or suffering, but cannot harm anyone who is a bringer of joy.
- Gold-fletched: an arrow that helps the aim of the user but cannot harm anyone or anything youthful. Note: this is not made of literal gold, but gold-colored materials.
- Silver-fletched: an arrow that is more potent against the undead or corrupted life, but cannot harm those who are full of life. Note: this is not made of literal silver, but silver-colored materials.
- Blue-fletched: an arrow that has bonuses to hit prey but cannot harm unsuitable prey.
- Red-fletched: an arrow that has bonuses against the undead, but cannot harm those who heal.
- Brown-fletched: an arrow that will not harm decent parents but will kill those who harm children or are abusive parents.
- Buck-fletched: an arrow that tells you who to fire at.
- Black-fletched: an arrow of instant death that can only be used against the iniquitous or perfect prey.
Streleci are decent archers, but their primary work is making the arrows, not hunting or fighting. Thus, they are not as skilled as a full-fletched (yes I know that isn’t the right word) warrior.
They are criminalized in imperial lands.
