Supernal Akhoata

Female-assigned species born with supernal magic.

Akka

Gabgara

The ones who will not bow.
  • Lifespan: 300 years
  • Diet: Common mortal fare
  • Habitat: Anywhere
  • Socioeconomic Status: Oppressed
Gabgaras are 7’ tall female-assigned beings with metallic skin and glowing eyes.

Gabgaras came into being shortly after the Fall; they were akhoata who refused to allow the power of the Fall to warp or control them, and as such, they retained the ancient ways and cultures they had before. This empowered them to access magicks lost during the Fall, but as society progressed and the power of the Fall became more pervasive, they weakened and had to recharge their magic by shriving themselves of any energy of the Fall.

Or to put it another way, the toxicity of patriarchal lies began to creep into their lives, and they must restore their magic by rejecting them.

Powers that a gabgara might have include the following: define self, alter self (physical), sense intentions, stun attacker, metallifying gaze, feminist curse, gender alteration, sensual aura, communal healing, and more.

Gabgaras live in egalitarian communities where they take care of each other communally. They all do the work of keeping the community running, and while some specialize in needed ways, most have some skill in a bit of everything. Their communities are kept secret and are heavily protected from the outside world due to the dangers of imperial powers, who often seek to kill or enslave them.

Gangai

Daughters of liberation.
  • Lifespan: 300 years
  • Diet: Common mortal fare
  • Habitat: Anywhere
  • Socioeconomic Status: Defiant and free
Gangais look like 7’ tall female-assigned beings with orange skin and blue-and-white hair. They have deep black eyes. Some have burning wings, others have tails of lightning. None have both.

Gangais were formed after the Fall, when the very first akhoata community full liberated themselves from patriarchal control after having been oppressed, enslaved, and exploited by imperial powers. Their liberation transformed them, giving them new powers and appearances. Their species now lives in fortified communities secreted away in different parts of the world.

Gangais are immune to any form of magical control. They can see in the dark, and they can hear extremely well. All gangais have a power determined by their community, based around one of the 48 Names of the People. Players playing a gangi will roll a d100 to determine which one. (2 for each Name except Chaos, which has 4).

Gangais live in heavily fortified communities hidden away from imperial powers or in areas freed from imperial control. They are extremely guarded and closed off from the world in their own communities, but within those communities, they share everything in common, have all that they need (unless prevented from getting it from outside), and have nearly perfect freedom. They elect their leaders, reject exploitation and oppression, and have healing method to prevent or address abuse. Imperials despise them and view them as demonic.

Inannan

Inaro

Daughters of agape.
  • Lifespan: 300 years
  • Diet: Common mortal fare
  • Habitat: Mountains
  • Socioeconomic Status: Oppressed
Inaros appear to be translucent female-assigned beings surrounded by colorful light. They are about 6’ tall and can change the color of their appearance at will.

Inaros have the power to speak to any Divine they worship, directly, once per week. If they have a true and abiding love for the Divine they worship, this increases to twice per week. If they do not worship or love a Divine, they may speak to any Divine once per year, if they know enough about the Divine to do so.

Inaros are a deeply religious culture who worship the Beloved Divine, a love goddess who encompasses all forms of love. They believe they were born from the Divine love she represents, and thus, they seek to emulate it, perfecting love itself.

Imperials enslave them and sacrifice them to their own Divines.

Molumeli

Daughters of faith.
  • Lifespan: 300 years
  • Diet: Common mortal fare
  • Habitat: Underground
  • Socioeconomic Status: Oppressed
Molumeli are 6’ tall female-assigned beings with gold and blue skin, deep black eyes, and shining copper hair.

Molumeli are empowered by faith if that faith is rooted in a faith earned, a faith in other people, a faith in the collective. They are empowered by it in the form of a certainty within themselves that cannot be broken. If they lose this faith, they weaken greatly, but if they have it and live by it, they gain certain magical powers, such as the power to see what someone has faith in, the power to invoke loyalty to one another, and the power to reveal a truth of faith once per year.

They dwell in egalitarian, subterranean communities centered on a spiritual meeting hall that brings them together every nine days. When they come together, they join together in song and power and celebrate their freedom to believe as they choose, then share ideas, philosophies, and spiritual beliefs they have encountered and gathered.

Imperials enslave them.
