The Forbidden
Fey sealed behind a witch’s spell.
- Lifespan: 2,000 years
- Diet: Fey fare
- Habitat: The seal
- Socioeconomic Status: Privileged oppressed
The Forbidden are powerful fey who were sealed in a witch’s spell. They can only be released with a special word, a special spell, or a special ritual. They take the form of a swirling colorful form within the spell, but once they are free, they are about 7’ tall, have curly red hair, golden skin, pointy ears, and bright violet eyes. Most have four to six arms, and their golden skin is marked with eleven powerful spells. Some have insect-like wings.
The Forbidden were sealed away because they had no respect for the Lore and the Tradition, and they warped it to their will. Those who gain their freedom do so and immediately begin doing this very same thing. If something calls for order, they embrace chaos; if something calls for chaos, they embrace order. They do only what they are not supposed to do.
As such, they have magic that allows them to do this very thing. They are contradictory and capricious, and the eleven powerful spells in their skin are individualized to their trickery and trouble.
The Forbidden were sealed by an Ancient witch who saw the danger they posed to Faerie. It is unknown how many of them are. While behind the seal, they spend their time trying to get out. Some manage it, as they are very powerful. When they get out, they are immediately marked by the Wild Hunt.

Glaochan
Leamhin
The interpreters.
- Lifespan: 500 years
- Diet: Fey fare
- Habitat: On the edge of reality
- Socioeconomic Status: Privileged oppressed
Leamhins are fey beings with burning indigo eyes. Their hair is silky red and green, their skin is purple, and they have a haze of color around them.
Leamhins can see dreams of anyone sleeping within eyesight, and they inherently learn the meanings of dreams from a young age. They can speak into someone’s ear while they sleep to tell them these meanings or to influence (but not control) their dreams.
Once per week, they can fade into the Dream Realm, returning to the spot they left from after a full eight hours’ rest, even if they are active within Dreams.
Leamhins are from Faerie and dwell nearer the Dream Realm than most other fey. Outside of their homeland, they are nomadic, seeking strange dreams and sharing their interpretations for money and survival. They are often seen as pests by the powerful, but they are also sought out for their magic.

Seasamhin
Fey who are bound to certain stories.
- Lifespan: 200 years
- Diet: Fey fare
- Habitat: Faerie
- Socioeconomic Status: Privileged oppressed
Seasamhins are multicolored fey beings with pointy ears, four fingers on each hand, and four eyes (an extra pair on their foreheads). Their skin and hair can be any color at all, but never are both the same color.
Seasamhins are born with a role in a story. The role they are born with is determined by the roles of their parents. These roles may change as they grow, but this happens rarely. Most live up to the role they are born to, but they always put their own mark on these roles.
Some potential roles include the following: Protagonist, Antihero, Deuteragonist, Antagonist, Mentor, Close Ally, Sidekick, Love Interest, Foil, Trickster, Minor Player, Scene Stealer, Minion, Guardian, Confidant, etc. Each role has its own special powers.
Seasamhins live in a moving city within Faerie, but when they come of age, they head out into the world to live their story. When they reach a certain age, they return to their homeland to settle down. Their culture is one of storytelling, song, and adventure.

Tenageri
Swift fey who know many languages.
- Lifespan: 150 years
- Diet: Fey fare
- Habitat: Anywhere
- Socioeconomic Status: Privileged oppressed
Tenageri are dark-skinned fey with bald heads, pointy ears, metallic grey eyes, and seven white streaming marks down their backs. These marks glow when they run.
Long ago, the first tenageri was given a message to deliver, but when she arrived late to the recipient, they had died, and the recipient’s loved ones cursed her. She died without finishing her task, and all her descendants now have to bear a message to defeat the curse.
If a tenageri is given a message to deliver, they will be able to sense the recipient. They will know any language needed to get to the destination. And they will be able to move with incredible speed to get there. Once the message is delivered, one of their seven marks vanishes. If they deliver seven messages in their lives, they will remove all seven marks, and at that time, they will transcend into a spirit of words (a kalati).
