Faoidhocail are female-assigned beings with two faces, one on either side of their heads. Their bodies shift orientation depending on which is in control at a time, and each face may be hidden at will.

Both faces are conscious and separate, but very similar, like twins. They have many shared experiences, but their own perspectives. They are rarely so different as to be differently aligned. But many know different things, even if they share experiences, they do not share perspectives. One may read while the other sleeps, for example. They share a lower body and have a mind that is dual. They are not dissociative nor “split personalities”.

All faoidhocail can step through a threshold and teleport to another nearby threshold once per day. They can sense when something or someone has a twin (but not more than twins). They can, once per year, split an object in two to duplicate it.

Faoidhocail live in intricate cities in fey realms where they have complexes of buildings, labyrinthine and full of doors. Every city is precisely split down the middle into a perfect double figure. They are ruled by a duocratic pair who are chosen by mystic investigations, and they create magic and mysteries via their many passages to solve ancient mysteries.

Neamhchinnte

Neamhchinntes are purple-skinned, female-assigned beings, usually about 5’ tall, with broad shoulders, long dark purple hair, and silver eyes. They usually have dandelion-like antennae on their heads and small translucent wings.

Neamhchinntes cannot have certainty. They are mentally incapable of it. They can find doubt in anything. This does not stop them from functioning (usually), but it does give them a deep sense of questioning and skepticism that leads them to try to learn as much as possible. They have the ability to create strands of shadowy substance that will draw someone’s emotions out and let them infuse them with doubt; and they can create webs of confusion with these same strands.

Neamhchinntes dwell in deep fey woods where they have pod houses that are connected to large trees. They have simple homes above ground and vast, vertical libraries plunging deep with the roots of the trees. They are all scholars and investigators, and they work communally to find deeper questions.
