Geraki
Falcon-headed terata who walk the air.
- Lifespan: 70-120 years
- Diet: Insect-heavy mortal fare
- Habitat: Air masses
- Socioeconomic Status: Oppressed
Geraki have the heads of falcons, the bodies of humans.
All geraki can walk on the air. They can sense the humidity and temperature of all air within 100 miles of them. They are attuned to changes in the weather, and they can see great distances. They can breathe in high altitudes and are resistant to radiation, heat, and cold.
Gerakis bond to a specific air mass, which are regions of air that have a shared temperature and humidity average and exist as a sort of “air continent”. When they do this, they have an awareness of this aerial region.
Gerakis live in floating communities led by a council of elders that roam their air masses. They are hunters and survivors, keepers of birds, and eaters of insects. They dislike outsiders and keep to themselves. Imperials capture and enslave them.

Grammican
Beings whose forms change as weather fronts move through.
- Lifespan: 70-100 years
- Diet: Meat-heavy mortal fare
- Habitat: Anywhere
- Socioeconomic Status: Oppressed
Grammicans are 7’ tall beings with purple-furred bodies, spines along their arms, shoulders, and heads, large snouts and fanged mouths, and deep-set glowing yellow eyes when a warm front is coming through, and 5’ tall beings with red-furred bodies, spines along the outer sides of their legs, small snouts and fanged mouths, and bulging, oozing yellow eyes when a cold front is coming through. Other forms are possible for squall lines, dry lines, warm sectors, occluded fronts, and stationary fronts.
Grammicans shift forms over a course of an hour when a weather front comes through. Though the front may takes hours or days to move through, their change starts when it is within a few miles of them and takes only a single hour. Depending on the front that has transformed them, they have different powers:
- Cold front: a blast of freezing air from their snout
- Dry line: desiccating aura
- Occluded front: whirlwind form
- Squall line: thundering voice
- Stationary front: cloud form
- Warm front: heat wave from their eyes
- Warm sector: lightning from their hands
Grammicans live in nomadic bands that live on wide plains and other open regions where they can see the weather fronts coming. They are led by powerful warrior-chiefs who prove themselves defending the community against the many hostile nations around them. Most grammican communities are otherwise communal, though some have more hierarchy to them. They all worship weather gods and spirits.

Hefigian
Horned people of the fog.
- Lifespan: 70-120 years
- Diet: Fish-heavy mortal fare
- Habitat: Foggy regions
- Socioeconomic Status: Oppressed
Hefigians are one-eyed, 7’ tall beings with palest white skin, singular spiral horns, and clawed hands.
Hefigians are beings of the fog. They are resistant to cold, can sense moisture, and can walk on clouds, mist, or fog. They are harmed by the heat. They can breathe a stream of freezing fog if they are cornered.
Hefigians dwell in foggy regions, in hidden villages surrounded by the fog. Their secret villages are led by elders, and everyone works together communally. They are keepers of secret magicks and protectors of nature, and they hate the imperials who destroy it.

Ijuru
Two-headed legless birds.
- Lifespan: 50-80 years
- Diet: High caloric fare
- Habitat: The sky
- Socioeconomic Status: Oppressed
Ijurus are two-headed birds with no legs. They appear to be a cross between a hawk and a crane. Most have brownish and yellowish feathers.
Ijurus cannot touch land. They are always flying, and they never tire of flying. They can sleep as they fly. They must always be moving. If they are stopped, they have panic attack first, then weaken physically until they die.
All ijurus can sense movement near them, and they are very fast and durant. They are mildly psionic.
Ijurus live in flocks that fly around the world constantly. They are hunters, fishers, gatherers, led by their elders, and never in one place very long. They have many songs and stories they share. Imperials hunt them for sport, treating them as mundane birds instead of an intelligent species.

Magma Folk
Megamanos
Pressure elementals taking the form of giant hands.
- Lifespan: 50 years
- Diet: Energy
- Habitat: Anywhere
- Socioeconomic Status: Oppressed or Unknown
Megamani exist in places with intense pressure, taking the form of the material under pressure - magma, rock, petroleum, water, air, or any other natural material - formed into a living, conscious hand about 2’ tall and wide.
As pressure elementals, megamani can exert or release pressure both literal and metaphorical. They can grasp pressure and either intensify or release pressures, which they sense via their palm. The more metaphorical, unnatural, or magical the pressure, the harder it is for them to interact.
Megamani exist anywhere the natural pressures increase to a certain point, though few become strong enough to gain consciousness. Those who do are released from being tied to the pressures that created them, and these form small bands that exist independently in strange places - underground, undersea, and in powerful storms, mostly. They absorb elemental energies around them for sustenance.
However, many are found and captured by imperials to be used as slaves for powerful weapons or industrial machinery. These sometimes “earn”, gain, or steal their freedom and find themselves in imperial society. They are often still exploited, much like pretty much everyone else, but they can sometimes force greater payments and support because of their rare powers.

Mutahamis
NPC only
Cosmic beings of immense size who dwell amongst plasma.
- Lifespan: 50,000 years
- Diet: Energy
- Habitat: Deep space
- Socioeconomic Status: Unknown
Mutahamis are 400 mile tall beings with glowing flesh of many colors. They have bulky bodies with many arms, and each of their heads has 100 faces. They warp reality around them, being so large, and ionize matter that comes near them.
A mutahamis is a being that dwells in the cosmic plasma that makes up much of the universe. They are powerful figures of energy, which they absorb from around the cosmos, and can channel it through their bodies with incredible control. They can control any cosmic energy. They need no air or gravity, absorb radiation as food, and are immune to heat and cold. They can move at the speed of light if they are in the vacuum of space. If they come to a planet, they can shrink down to only 40’ tall.
Many think them gods, but they are very much not.
Mutahamis live in the cosmic void, amidst vast arrays of plasma and energy, dwelling in the intergalactic medium. They live as nomads, seeking wonders of the universe, and are protectors of the cosmos from infernal powers and the Eldritch.

Pullalik
Tubular terata living in geysers.
- Lifespan: 50-100 years
- Diet: Minerals and water
- Habitat: Geysers
- Socioeconomic Status: Oppressed
Pullaliks are 9’ tall tubular hominids with long arms and legs. If steam and water flow through them, they elongate to up to 20’ long and tall. They are scaly and bumpy of flesh and come in many colors. Their faces are distorted and strange.
Pullaliks are immune to heat, acid, and steam; they can breathe underwater. If they enter a geyser, they can control it via dance. They can swim into a geyser and come out of another if it is within 30 miles. All pullaliks can control steam and vapor if it is within 30’.
Most pullaliks live in small communities deep within geysers, delving into the watery chambers that fuel them, creating tunnels to dwell in. They are led by a group of elders who are in charge of controlling the geyser, and the rest live equally, mining and channeling water for the group’s needs. Those who leave the geysers and see the world return often with tales. Imperials find them to be strange and alien and treat them as secondary peoples.

Rakibishak
Rthash
Crab-squid people.
- Lifespan: 200 years
- Diet: Chemicals and meat
- Habitat: Cryovolcanoes
- Socioeconomic Status: Oppressed
Rthashes are hominids with crab and squid features. They have chitinous shells, tentacles, and pincers, long legs, squishy bodies, and beaks in some random combination. They usually are light blue or dark grey in color. They range from 7’ to 12’ tall.
Rthashes live in cryovolcanoes and are immune to cold and poison. They are resistant to acid and pressure. They can swim through solid ice, float in mist or fog, and can see in the dark. They can spit a plume of cryolava (ammonia, water, and hydrocarbons) once per week.
Rthashes live in cryovolcanoes in scattered communities. They are fishers and hunters who range outside, bringing food back to be scoured by the harsh chemicals of the volcano before eating it. They like frozen foods as well. They live mostly communally, though they designate certain people for trade and liaising with other peoples. They are feared by imperials.

Rychelley
Schbote
Terata of elemental bonds.
- Lifespan: 80-120 years
- Diet: Varied mortal fare
- Habitat: Rain forests
- Socioeconomic Status: Oppressed
Schbotes are 5’ tall, beings with bodies that bond to the natural things around them, causing their skin to change depending on what they have bonded with - rock, mud, sand, soil, glass, water, ice, etc. They become like the natural environment they are interacting with, so long as it is not alive or shaped by mortal hands. They have craggy heads, sharp claws, and huge bulbous noses.
Schbotes have different powers depending on what natural material they have bonded with. Those who bond with stone have great strength and toughness and the ability to sense earthquakes. Those who bond to mud have greater stealth and speed and the ability to fit through small spaces. Those who bond to water have greater presence and awareness and the ability to control water. And so on.
All schbotes are immune to poison and disease.
If a schbote finds two pure elements (as in periodic elements), they can merge them together in their hands into unique materials, but this uses up a lot of their magic, which must be restored by resting in the natural material they are currently bonded to.
Schbotes live in small communities in deep rain forests. They split their communities up between what kind of materials they have bonded with, which changes from time to time. Those bonded to stone perform major physical tasks. Those bonded to water take turns as leaders or teachers. Those bonded to soil are farmers. And so on. They switch this up regularly, and no one is considered better than others.
Imperials often enslave them.

Tankhane
Scaly terata of the narrows
- Lifespan: 80-120 years
- Diet: Algae-heavy mortal fare
- Habitat: Water gaps and narrows
- Socioeconomic Status: Oppressed
Tankhanes are 6’ tall, scaled hominids with long necks, bumpy skin, and flippered claws. They are usually orange and black on their backs and white on their bellies. Their eyes are large, black, and bulbous. Their bodies tend to be very slender.
Tankhanes live in narrow straits and slender water gaps between stretches of land. They are amphibious. They breathe both on land and in water. They can jump very far, swim very well, and see great distances. They have long, sticky tongues like frogs. Once a month, they can dive into any body of water and return to their home narrows.
Tankhanes live in small communities, “schools”, which are led by elders. They tend to be afraid of outsiders, but if they see someone in need, they will help them to land or water, whichever seems safer for them. They are known for their stews and algae salads, as well as for snacking on insects. They are seen as gross and stupid by imperials, but their culture is ancient. Beneath the waters, they build strange cities few on land ever could imagine. They worship various animalistic deities of nature, and their beliefs focus on protecting the waters.

Vomvosian
Insectoid hominids of the stratosphere.
- Lifespan: 70-120 years
- Diet: Light sky fare
- Habitat: Stratosphere
- Socioeconomic Status: Oppressed
Vomvosians are about 2’ tall hominid beings with insectoid wings, chitinous bodies, and some assortment of insect features - stingers, claws, antennae, etc. These features must be from a flying insect, however.
All vomvosians are immune to radiation, cold, and heat. They are used to flying in very strong winds, and they can stand and walk on clouds. They have the ability to predict the next day’s weather.
Vomvosians can control the strength of the wind by flapping their winds - they cannot create wind where there is none, but they can alter its strength when it does exist.
Each vomvosian will also have one of the following:
- Gravitational adjustment: the vomvosian can hover and cause gravity to alter slightly nearby
- Wall of ozone: the vomvosian can emit a wall of ozone to protect themselves or others (or cause harm to others)
- Combinatory dance: the vomvosian can dance through different gases and combine them
- Electrical resistance: the vomvosian is resistant to electricity
- Bacterial sense: the vomvosian can sense nearby bacteria in a broad sense
Vomvosians live in aerial communities that are egalitarian and nomadic in the stratosphere, focusing their culture on following the circulatory system of the atmosphere of Shem, honoring atmospheric spirits, and protecting the world from pollutants and meteorites. Those who find themselves in the imperial core are usually enslaved and exploited, living in large subcommunities within the cities, working strange jobs they are oddly suited to.
