The Unlucky is the first of the Gambler Divine's children, and he lives up to his name. He has an addiction to gambling that has brought him well into debt with everyone. There's few on Shem to whom he owes no favors, and those are just the ones who haven't yet met him. He lives in the Court of Idiots not because he lacks wit, but because his misfortunes amount to the same thing as idiocy. He has agreed to protect the dummy-child over his own objections.
