Son of the Puck and the Queen of Faerie, Pombero is a trickster who dwells in the jungles of Guadaljon. He is short and ugly and has hairy hands and feet. He likes the night, but he often tricks people into thinking he owns the sun itself. He moves without being heard and imitates the sounds of the jungles and forests. He sometimes takes up residence in abandoned houses, and he likes to dress in ruck cloth and simple caps. He delights in generally harmless mischief like stealing eggs or setting cattle loose or spilling grains in the night. He is very protective of wild birds. Like any faerie, he can vanish at will. He is also able to squeeze through narrow spaces when not vanished. He likes cigars, rum, and honey, and those who give him any of these will have his protection for a year and a day. He is often accused of being the father of unexplained pregnancies, but this has never been true.
Pombero protects those who befriend him, and, as such, the death of his close friend at the hands of one of the Dealmaker's servants sparked a quiet war amongst the Tricksters of the world that goes on to this day.
