Messiahs have a greater pull on time than other beings. Three Messiahs in Shemmish history are still worshiped on Third Shem: the Bronccour (Sidney), Grayson Caer, and the Silver Fisher King (Thannas). Thannas, Sidney, and Grayson all find themselves in each others' places in time. Sidney is at Grayson's Cross, being crucified by Jedidiah Thrace. Grayson is in Ailanea, speaking the name of Emelcuil at the rise of the Last Elves. Thannas is in the desert fortress being killed by enders, saved by Takhuk Grendaar.

Each fragment must be corrected. The watchers believe that the weight of Messiahs in the timestream has caused them to be shifted and that some other power took advantage to switch them when this happened.
