Lingentium

In the age of empires, Lingentium was a well known conqueror from Ansulym who held together an empire of half the world for over 30 years before slave uprisings saw him overthrown. He maintained his power by controlling insects as a swarm master and by using ruthless tactics such as destroying crops, poisoning water sources, and political assassination and terrorism. A validus, he comes from a noble family in what would one day be Furich Amol, descended from the original validuses that came to Shem just after the Fall.

The watchers believe that he may be responsible for the Fragmentation because an achronolous anomaly occurred during the height of his rein shortly before Fragmentation. History records that at the height of his power, he visited a despot from Annec Hoth and formed an alliance that allowed him to conquer much of Ansulym, but before the Fragmentation, this did not occur. Instead, he was visited by a figure believed to be a rogue watcher. After this visit, Lingentium performed a ritual the result of which is unknown.

Lingentium was raised as a nobleman and warrior by his family, who ruled a small empire, and he learned the arts of being a swarm master from an adviser to his father. Both his father and his mentor were among his first kills.
