Deserts

Forests

  • Woodland: a low-density forest
  • Boreal: any forest in the subarctic regions
  • Hemiboreal: forest halfway between subarctic and temperate
  • Taiga: special boreal forests that are mainly coniferous
  • Rainforest: a forest with closed and continuous canopy and moisture-dependent plants
  • Tropical: forests, usually rainforest, within the tropical zone of Shem
  • Temperate: forests within the temperate zone of Shem
  • Needleleaf: coniferous forests
  • Broadleaf: deciduous forests
  • Evergreen: forests made up of evergreen trees
  • Laurisilva: high humidity subtropical forests dominated by laurel-type trees
  • Tugay: riparian forest in arid floodplains
  • Riparian Forest: forested area adjacent to significant bodies of water
  • Bluebell Wood: forests blanketed with bluebells
  • Cypress Forest: forest whose canopy is dominated by cypress
  • Sparse Woodland: an especially low-density woodland
  • Pine Barrens: forest of small pines that grow in acidic, dry ground
  • Montane Forest: forests in the mountains
  • Cloud Forest: forests with consistent, low-level cloud cover
  • Petrified Forest: forests of dead trees that have petrified, found underground or in secluded rocky mountain valleys
  • Thorn Forest: temperate forests made up of thorn-heavy plants
  • Rainbow Forest: tropical forests dominated by trees that have prismal leaves that split the light, blanketing the forest with rainbows
  • Voidwood Forest: forests with void-based plant life, usually underground but not always
  • Sallowwood Forest: temperate forests of poisonous plants
  • Skywood Forest: forests in the sky islands of Gyrah, made up mostly of coniferous forests
  • Faeriewood Forest: temperate forests in Lyrilla and other dream-attuned places made up of special trees and thick with illusion
  • Silverwood Forest: temperate elven forests that are more vibrant and alive than any other place in the world
  • Lunarwood Forest: forests on the Green Moon, made up of a small variety of trees with brightly colored leaves
  • Night Forest: subterranean forests that grow in pitch darkness in Shadowdeep
  • Light Forest: forests on the sky islands around Lesedi that are imbued with the power of the Lesedian Mirror, making the trees glow
  • Subterranean Forest: any forest found underground that isn't a voidwood, night wood, or petrified forest
  • Genesis Forest: the first forest of Shem, found around the World Tree, made up of every kind of tree imaginable
  • Bloodwood Forest: a forest of bleeding, infernal trees
