| Description | Like all chthonians, the khaetragh have skin like the stone they resemble - in the case of the khaetragh, flint - but softer and malleable. Like flint, their skin can be sandy hued, mid- to dark grey or even black, reddish brown or greyish white. They stand, on average, about 5' tall, and have brown, grey, or black hair. Their eyes are grey or gold in hue, and their voices are deep and rich. Culturally, they are known for their beards and braided hair. Their bones are made of stone. |
| Procreation | The khaetragh procreate via sexual reproduction. |
| Esoterica | The khaetragh are known for their use of kazaddarean, which occurs naturally within them. Other forms of aether are commonly used among them, especially bailaohu jinghua, true shadow, viridian aether, and genesis. Cu'ucuch'ik, gebvel, and oalkhaylaoataa are also commonly used. Other energies are not unheard of, except for brown aether, which can kill them. |
| Special Powers | Like most chthonians, khaetragh can identiy any stone by sight and can find their way underground easily. Their stone skeletal system and skin makes them very tough. As the original chthonians, they have the power to shape stone by hand. |
| Stone Affiliation | Because they are attuned to flint, specifically, their skin and bones often have sharp edges. They are resistant to flame. |
| Weaknesses | Brown aether is deadly poison to them. |
| Culture | The khaeltragh dwell in a vertical kingdom ranging from the high mountains of Akazad all the way down to a remote outpost in Barathrum. Each layer is a series of tunnels, chutes, shafts, lifts, caverns, and stairwells that connect massive cities, quarries, mines, industrial regions, and territorial outposts for defense against rival nations. Every layer is ruled by a thane, who answers to a high thane. Thanes have vassals who control different areas, and commoners dwell and toil throughout. thane system industries 12 stones symbolic treasures food music art sculpture law |
