The merchant classes have evolved into titans of industry. Railroads, factories, mines, and trading consortiums rule the world. Certain important moments of the industrial revolutions throughout the world have been caught in Fragmented loops:
  1. Winchester Core: The Winchester Steel Corporation controls the railroads through half the world. They even have rails going into the Subterranean Realm, where they control a number of important mines. The most important is called the Winchester Core, which is also where their headquarters are. At the Core Mine (as it is also known), Crutinney Winchester, a spelunker gnome who was infused with brown aether in a mining disaster, runs the company and seeks to use the quicklead being mined in part of the Core Mine to build a special weapon. History tells that Crutinney died at the hands of striking miners. Because of the Fragmentation and his corrupted powers, he has the chance to befoul time itself instead. He must be stopped.
  2. The Through-Elevator: An elevator is built connecting Raam Daldar in Ansulym and Malhuin in Palhur through the Subterranean Realm. This technical marvel is controlled by the Winchesters as well. History tells that the elevator was shut down after too many failures after about 35 years. Fragmentation means it must be preserved, however.
  3. Shadow of Alkor: The City Under the Stairs is under the Alkor Stair, a massive stair connecting levels of the Subterranean Realms. The city is a major industrial haven run by the stiegerians. It is a hub of trade, of moving materials, and of production. It is also a center of the labor struggle. A group of workers has seized control of one of the largest rail stations in the world there, and history says they are to be disrupted, betrayed, arrested, and executed as terrorists. Fragmentation says five of them must be saved, five must die, and one must be recruited.
  4. The Great Earthquake: An earthquake rips half of Ansulym and the realms beneath it apart. The wake of this massive disaster sees rioting, rebellions, assassinations, acts of desperation, acts of sacrifice, acts of kindness, and acts of cruelty. History says this event is a turning point in the consolidation of the wealth of certain figures in Ansulym, especially a mammon demon named Horocluzin. Fragmentation has threatened her life, and history requires she survive.
  5. Master of Behemoths: In Wymmera, a figure named Luhorrgh has led an army against the expanding rail companies. He is known as the Master of Behemoths because he rides one. In history, he was defeated by a group of soldiers known as the Eighth Rifle Brigade, a group of mercenaries hired by a major trading consortium. Players must investigate how the Fragmentation has affected this and make a determination.
Only one Winchester should survive this period.
