Ho'okuma

The energies of islands, peninsulae, atolls, seamounts, coasts and beaches, and other landforms partially or wholly surrounded by water, as well as volcanoes, magma, lava, and related features. When the energies refer specifically to coastal landforms and inlets, it is called liwa. Islands, archipelagos, atolls, calves, stacks, skerries, faraglionis, islets, sandbars, polar islands, rock islands, and seamounts all count as types of islands. Beaches, coasts, cheniers, cays, capes, lagoons, bays, gulfs, fjords, fjards, shoals, sills, and other inlets are included under liwa, as well as other coastal features. Reefs are a separate landform covered under ho'okuma. Peninsulae, isthmuses, and land bridges are also included. All littoral and neritic regions count as well - coastal plains, littoral caves, continental shelves, etc. While all islands from all regions are included, tropics and tropical islands have more ho'okuma than others. Vulcanos is included here as well, which covers volcanoes, magma and lava, tephra, ash, smoke, and other features of volcanoes and island-forming frictions. Animals, plants, fungi, and microbes of islands and coast lands also are included here.
