A deep one outcast from Dalurine decades ago for trying to assassinate his local lord, Gaukanan is a worshipper of the Dark Deeps, the manifestation of Darkness in the undersea realms. He is feared and hated by all in Rohhev, but the strict laws on religious freedom won by the other faiths in the area prohibit the law from acting against him and his small cadre of followers. Gaukanan has a dark, shadowy servant called Eskaganis, who may or may not be a demon. Gaukanan plays his own games and has secret ties to many dangerous individuals outside of town.
