Heartbound Magitech
Similar to heartbonding, but the magitechnician customizes a machine and channels emotions through it to cast spells. The nature of the machine influences what spheres can be used and what bonuses are possible; the bonuses are either "consumable", which means time must be taken to reload, refuel, or reset the machine after each use (and materials may be needed), or "interactive", which means time must be taken in advance to use them; in either case the time is as normal for lowering difficulty, and is limited to the sum of the machine-sphere bonus (see machines below) and the
emotion-sphere alignment modifier. Emotions must be evoked by a trigger event before they can be channeled.
