Origins

Froemmlers were eugenically developed by mortal scientists using the energy of feirua to try to splice genes in order to create supersoldiers or ubermensch.

Description

Froemmlers appear to be an amalgamation of multiple species. Which species they resemble varies by individual, but most are attempts to unite multiple species within different taxonomic orders or families. The commonest forms include the following:

• Feuerblut: multispecies elementals, usually chthonians, ka’ar, and viridianites mixed to horrific results.

• Geisterblut: multispecies spirit folk, usually within a subset of spirit folk defined by region, designed to be superspecies but often with unexpected and dangerous esoteric side effects.

• Gruenehaut: multispecies green folk, usually a mixture of tree people of some kind, designed to be larger and more violent.

• Höllenblut: multispecies infernal illittum and inmortal species, usually a mixture of demons with any other species, but so spliced that they are little more than batteries of infernal power. Because feirua is an infernal energy, celestial illittum and aetherial and celestial inmortals are not capable of becoming froemmlers.

• Inbegriffrau: multispecies adelfoi, usually a mixture of adelfoi associated culturally with beauty, bred for fertility and appearance.

• Klugesblut: multispecies insinsi, usually a mixture designed to emphasize intelligence, often resulting in a person with less of a body and more of a head; tragic monsters bred for intelligence that are nothing but suffering and thoughts.

• Tierblut: multispecies animal folk, usually of the same subset of animals - i.e., multiple ungulate folk, multiple snake folk, multiple raptor folk - and often predators, megafauna, or other animal folk with associations of strength or cultural value to eugenicist cultures.

• Wahrermensch: multispecies humans and metahumans, usually mixing brannish and Wathite ancestry with other metahumans in order to create superhuman beings with multiple powers, but always mentally unstable and esoterically flawed.

Procreation

Froemmlers are intentionally eugenically designed by other mortals. Most are sterile and only reproduce when their genetic material is harvested by eugenicists and supernaturally altered and developed with the energy of feirua. Those few who aren’t sterile can only reproduce with other similar froemmlers, who almost never exist. The exceptions are inbegriffrau, who are bred to be breeding vessels, just living wombs.

Powers

Froemmlers have variations of the powers of the 3-5 species they are amalgamations of, but always somewhat twisted. Some examples include the following:

• Feuerblut: if they are a mixture of ka’ar and chthonians, they have the ability to force fire to burn stone, but they cannot control it.

• Geisterblut: if they are a mixture of minotaur, centaur, and merfolk might have greater strength and the body of a hippocampus, but unable to breathe underwater.

• Gruenehaut: usually, they are huge, mindless tree people who engage in horrible violence because of the pain they are in.

• Höllenblut: if they are a mixture of cythreulig and demons, they might have heightened powers of dominance, but they will have bodies that burn in the air, being more susceptible to aether such that even background aether harms them.

• Inbegriffrau: if they are a mixture of nymphs and succubi (the commonest form), they will have supernatural beauty but they will have absolutely no free will, or they will be nothing but unconscious wombs.

• Klugesblut: almost all klugesblut are just heads in jars with keen awareness and intellect, but overwhelming pain and horror.

• Tierblut: if they are a mixture of lion folk and wolf folk, they will have the keen sense of smell of a wolf person and the strength of a lion person, but they will also have the susceptibility to disease of both lions and wolves and none of the resistances.

• Wahrermensch: if they are a mixture of Wathites and speculari, they will have the ability to walk on clouds and greater strength, but they will be psychotic. Actually, literally psychotic.

Weaknesses

Dumaqu will mercy kill them. Many will have the weaknesses of their constituent parts. Some celestial and aetherial energies may relieve them of pain and allow them to live free of enslavement or service to infernal powers. Aemoa will allow them to split into their constituent parts and live as independent beings.

Nations

Froemmlers belong to no nation, but are instead the creations of people from multiple mortal nations: Stolzene, Agikaanis, Insiemese, and various eastern Ansulymic imperial countries.

Culture

Froemmlers live hellish existences as weapons, slaves, and tools of arrogant eugenicist societies who seek to create the perfect mortal being, either as a military force (eastern Ansulym), a slave race (Agikaan), an ideal to live up to (Insieme), or all three (Stolzen). Most froemmlers want either to be free or to be relieved of their painful existences by a merciful death, because they were designed poorly with no regard to their personal comfort.

In eastern Ansulym, the main development of froemmlers is done with the intention of bulking up their various militaries with either supersoldiers or disposable fodder (or both). These are among the most successful froemmlers simply because they are bred for strength and violence and not intended to be happy, ideal, or even alive for more than a few years. They are little more than slaves, raised as weapons, and they are indoctrinated from birth to believe that their violent deaths will bring them salvation.

In Agikaan, froemmlers were developed for the purpose of creating slaves that are capable of building powerful concentration camps that focus infernal energies for the purposes of massive, genocidal wars and conquest. Froemmlers in Agikaan are hated and mistreated and abused, bred entirely for mindless strength and immunities to damage from infernal powers, and therefore, they are also harder to control. They often rebel and end up being butchered and replaced.

In Insieme, they are bred to be some kind of strange ideal being, and they are almost always failures. The castoffs from these experiments live on the fringes of society in misery; the “successes” never last long. The successes are kept secret until the Insiemese ruling class gets it right (which they never will). The Insiemese ruling class often up their own daughters (or womb-bearing children) to breed froemmlers, something no other major culture does, and the results are often horrific.

And then there is Stolzen. In Stolzene, they breed froemmlers for every possible reason, often just for the sake of experimenting and seeing what will happen. They breed them for their armies and to make slaves, and these are better constructed than in other cultures. They still have the major flaws all froemmlers have, but they are a higher success rate in terms of fulfilling the functions they are bred for and for longer time periods. They live longer lives and are capable of greater violence or labor.

But the Stolzene breeding program for the ideal mortal is the heart of their froemmler-creating programs, and it is… disturbing to all mortality. What they create are often dangerously powerful, close to the ideals they espouse - bizarre, horrific ideas of a false purity that is ironic considering the cross-species breeding program they utilize - that form “perfect” individuals that are amalgamations of the precise species they believe are capable of forming perfection - raptor folk, wolf folk, bear folk, western and central Jesenyan and Jorgendish humans and metahumans and spirit folk, giants, dragons, minotaurs and centaurs, nymphs and succubi, and infernal illittum. However, the perfection they achieve is a false front that always falls apart under close inspection, but this is kept hidden from the general population. In other words, the success of their breeding programs is a blatant lie, but one perpetuated by the marginally increased success rate in breeding powerful froemmlers.

Rare froemmlers who survive long enough to break free of enslavement or servitude to eugenic violence usually embrace either more natural forms of life - i.e., aetherial cultures or religions - or resistance to their former creator - i.e., liberation power, euegasia, ujjval aatma, etc.

Esoterica

Froemmlers are beings of feirua, completely constructed for specific purposes, but they do not wield it except as a means of keeping their bodies together. They do wield some infernal, nommic, and shebvic powers if they are bred for military purposes or as false ideals.

Religion

Frommlers in Stolzen are indoctrinated with a belief in Reinheit, the Mask of the Pure, a deity whose dogma demands racial, genetic, and personal purity, belief in a racial hierarchy, and an embracing of infernal practices such as slavery, eugenics, and brutal exploitation of others. They are part of this religion in that they are examples of its practice, and most believe in it because they are never taught anything else.

Gender

Froemmlers are bred by patriarchal cultures and indoctrinated with a binary view of gender. Those who break free embrace the cultures or ideals of the groups they join when they are freed.

Economy

Froemmlers are usually slaves in capitalist economies.

Military

Froemmlers developed by their various creators for military purposes fall into one of four categories:

• Meistersoldat: supersoldiers bred for strength, speed, and combat skill as disposable forces.

• Rüstung: bred to be able to move better in heavy armor.

• Schutter: bred for precision and marksmanship as wielders of firearms.

• Tollespferd: soldiers riding eugenically created horses, sometimes froemmlers, sometimes not.
