Ruler: The Hand of God

Government: Ecclesiastic empire

Region: Southwestern Dabusen

Capital: Fetat, the Eightfold City

Terrain/Climate: Jungle, swamp, and hill lands, subtropical to tropical

Major religions: The One True God

Major races: Human

Earthly basis: n/a

Symbols: Eightfold cross

Notable figures: The Hand of God

Provinces: At one point or another, the entire world was under their sway.

Motto: "Strength Through Purity."

Notable laws: All gods are but shadows of the One True God. Intense breeding laws requiring certain races not to breed and others only to breed with each other, and advanced eugenics programs were instituted. Some few races were kept like livestock, and others were subject to genocide for being impure.

Military: The Purebred Legion was the most feared military unit on Shem for thousands of years. Otherwise, their military was well trained and provisioned, but not special.

Culture: During times of power, Agikaanis enjoyed a status as the world's elite, living in their jungle paradise and enjoying the fruits of others' labor. During other times, the rich often still enjoyed this role, but the poor found themselves working hard in the rice fields and farms, the villages and the cities. Life is hard in Agikaan, but the people are still proud of their past and their perceived superiority.

History:

(1:03:40 PM) Nahuel: agikaanis believe the gods that most people worship are false, just powerful immortals, and that there is one true god that exists, also called the 'eight form god,' for he was the eighth form of an older god who transcended all the lesser forms. he gave 8 commandments to this people: 1. rule in his name; 2. purify the unbelievers; 3. find your inner strength; 4. separate the weak from the strong; 5. denounce the false gods; 6. keep the 11 continents pure; 7. never surrender; 8. honor the 8th continent utmost.

the hand of god is basically his pope and president rolled into one.

unbelievers say that the one true god was a false god, created by the war god's curse to compel the world to war during the age of empires.

The nation basically split into three main groups: conservatives, who

held onto the beliefs of the Hand of God; liberals, who wanted to

repair the image of the Agikaani around the world; and the rest and

most of them, who just wanted to be left alone. While during much of

the time after the fall of the Hand of God the nation was under the

sway of other various empires and Champions, depending, when it was

its own nation, the balance of power lay with the "rest of them," and

a more or less moderate government held sway. There have been periods

where conservatives or liberals took power, but the conservatives

always brought down the wrath of the rest of the world, and the

liberals always brought down the wrath of the populace.

Notable incidents in the history of Agikaan:

- A lot of wars in the Age of Decline when conservatives took power,

but nothing on the scale of the Age of Empires stuff.

- The Agikaani Fleet during the Age of Waves was huge and impressive,

but it never held too much political power.

- It fell in with the independent Grand Alliance during much of the

Age of Stone, focusing on remaining out of the Steel/Stone conflict.

- In the Age of Flames, it quickly fell under the sway of the Champion.

- It rose to some power during the early part of the Age of Winds, as

they had access to excellent aircraft.

- Given its proximity to the Champion of Storms' stronghold, it

quickly fell under his control in the Age of Storms. This gave rise to

one of the strongest nationalist resistance forces.

- It remained independent for a long time during the Age of Leaves,

being one of the last parts of the world to fall to the Champion.

- In the Age of Beasts, it fell under the sway of the Crocodile

Servitor to the Champion.

All in all, the national identity has evolved only barely. Most people

are aware of their struggle to overcome their past as a world

dominating dictatorship, but they also know the elements that brought

that forth exist in a weakened form still.
