Mortal descriptions:
  1. Early mortality: a world dominated by massive animals (including dinosaurs) and small tribes of low-tech mortals in matriarchal communities.
  2. Antediluvian era: a world dominated by advanced esoterica and early cities with matriarchal communities.
  3. The Fall: the rise of patriarchy and early slaving societies.
  4. Ancient empires: think ancient Babylon to the Roman Empire, slave-based economies and brutal empires.
  5. Feudalism: land-based economies ruled by powerful aristocracies and monarchies.
  6. Mercantilism: a period of time where land-based feudal economies are giving way to early capitalism. Early colonialism begins.
  7. Industrial capitalism: unfettered, brutal capitalism during an industrial revolution.
  8. Early imperialism: capitalism has grown into monopolistic capitalism and the rich have spread their influence around the world, building financial empires and exploiting other countries. World wars result.
  9. Atomic era: technological advances bring about atomic power and class war between the rich and the poor as early attempts at socialism develop.
  10. Infotech era: technological advances bring about the Metanet and mass media that shifts the class war to communications struggles.
  11. Dystopian: analagous to our contemporary era, technology has become ubiquitous, the surveillance state is controlled by the rich and powerful, and everything seems grim as capitalism takes back all that workers have won.
  12. Revolutionary period: a time when socialism is spreading as people rise up and a domino effect spreads liberation struggles worldwide.
  13. Post-capitalist reconstruction: the early days of socialism when there is still some capitalist power around the world and much rebuilding to be done.
  14. Far future: near-communism, hyperadvanced technology, not utopian but damned close.
  15. Dying world: mortality has mostly left the planet as the sun is expanding to go nova.
