Duqqu is the art of using dumaqu to attain personal improvement. The jewels can be drawn from for power in several ways:

• Wearing them
• Consuming them
• Using them in an object
• Using them in toiletries
• Using them to draw light into oneself

Wearing them is the simplest method. One simply puts a jewel in some form of jewelry or clothing and wears it. This will give +1 to a skill or ability related to the facet of the jewel for as long as the jewel is worn.

Consuming them can be done in many ways. If one is capable, eating it directly will work. Crushing into a powder then mixing with food is the most common way, however. This gives a +2 to a skill or ability related to the facet of the jewel for up to three months per jewel consumed.

Using one in an object is similar to wearing it, but its power will be tied to the object in a peculiar way. Placing one in the hilt of a knife, for instance, will make the knife beautiful, and all who admire the knife will give the user points into gaining skill or ability related to the facet of the jewel.

Mixing them with toiletries and make up (usually by grinding them to powder first) will allow one to gain upwards of +6 in a skill or ability (or general beauty) for a day or so, or until it is washed off.

Using them to draw light into oneself is the most difficult and rewarding method. One must have multiple jewels, aligned such that they catch the light and direct it at oneself, then sit within it (preferably in meditation) for as many days as one wants points added to a skill or ability related to the facet of the jewels. One may not interrupt this for anything, not even to eat or sleep or drink or relieve oneself. The cap on bonus is 25. The more jewels one has, the more skills or abilities can be affected at once.
