| Description | At birth, all dragons look like large, pink worms. At maturity, drab dragons grow to be vast, python-like beasts with a single horn. Their scales are drab hued. |
| Procreation | Drab dragons do not mate and do not lay eggs. They steal the eggs of other dragons and corrupt them. |
| Esoterica | Drab dragons accumulate msawhat-corrupted qi. Infernum and shadow are not uncommon. Divine energies are common, as is blasphemy. Holy energies are impossible, and other energies are rare. All qi becomes corrupted. |
| Special Powers | Dragons gain new powers as they accumulate more energies. At each stage of growth, they gain a new ability, usually culminating with the twelfth ability when they accumulate . The usual progression of powers is as follows:
All dragons accumulate energies by absorbing them naturally from the area around them. As such, they must carefully cultivate their lairs to provide the right kinds of energies, hence they hoard appropriate objects. Other common powers include instill infertility, generational curse, childsteal, and msawhat aura. |

| Subspecies | Cuckoo dragons are drab dragons with more corrupted qi than most. These become more worm-like and absorb the fertility around them, turning all earth, all life into barren waste as they move. |
| Culture | Drab dragons dwell in deep pools in dark caverns, deep forests, or in undersea caves. They gather the eggs of other dragons and corrupt them, and they raise them in dangerous, cult-like groups of other drab dragons. They ceremonially sacrifice one out of every three children, and they steal from the hoards of other dragons to create their own, corrupting them to make them suitable for their own needs. As they grow older, they become more vile and dangerous, unstable killers of their own kind as well as others. |
