The Knights of Cadonia are a special order descended of CadoyGoldenflame, an eastern noble who married a Cadonian woman and founded what is now the capital of the region. He honored the Sun, and the knights who honor him do the same. They are an honorable order, though they are not immune to some corruption. They are avowed to protect the royal family of Cadonia to the death.

Though the Sun Goddess is their primary Divine, they also sometimes honor the Iridal Goddess, the Prismatic Goddess, the Lightbringer, and the Valorous One. These Divines are considered subject to the Sun itself. Because they are dedicated to an elemental deity, they work especially with special materials. Fajari armor and weaponry is common among them, and sundrop is used as a complement to their meals in order to give them power over sunfire.

Cadoniano knights number always 10; other knights in Cadonia are generic caballeros. They do not often join the Crusades, though they respect the Church of Sacra Vitta.

Notable Cadonian golden knights:

• Senor Donedai: leader of the knights and wielder of the sword Hoja Dorada, a fajari sword forged on Second Shem.
• Senor Graviel: knight sent to Tara'hin as an envoy of peace; he has become obsessed with the legendary weapons of Tara'hin.
• Senor Menendo: knight who has a fajari lance called Prominencia, a lance of burning sunfire unbeatable in battle.
