In central Ranu, only Galdun has never been a province of Tara'hin. Often times, much of the northern part of the Island Bridge is considered part of Tara'hin's influence, and in some periods, even Inisel and the Desert of the Winds have been provinces.

Motto: "To All Men, Honor"
Notable laws:
The Tara'hinian Code is comprised of four parts. The first is entirely about Honor. The second is the list of the rights of citizens. The third is about the duties of citizens. The fourth is about the workings of the legal system itself.
Military: See the Code.
Culture: The common people of Tara'hin, being largely unburdened by concerns with the Code, tend to live fairly normal, free lives where the dominant class is the middle class. In a modern era, it would be very similar to America if America's history involved the Ottoman Empire being a root of its national identity. Ceremonies sometimes punctuate their lives, but they are otherwise familiar to us. The nobility and military and government, on the other hand, is a tradition-bound, Code-burdened group that works tirelessly seeking perfection, leaving only the highest level--the Emperor--free to reign with some impunity.
