Description At birth, all dragons look like large, pink worms. At maturity, bonded dragons grow to be long serpents with heads at both ends. Their scales are impossible hues of every color, blending together.
Procreation Dragons mate with each other only. Without intense supernatural interference, half-dragons are an impossibility. Dragons lay one to three eggs at a time. Upon hatching, a dragon immediately begins absorbing background energies. All dragon eggs are filled with pure, liquid draconic energy, which sustains the baby dragon upon hatching.
Esoterica Bonded dragons have accumulated more ethereal energy than other energies and bonded with a mix of powers that does not lend itself to a Pantheonic dragon form. Any powers are possible as they bond to every power they come in contact with.
Special Powers

Dragons gain new powers as they accumulate more energies. At each stage of growth, they gain a new ability, usually culminating with the twelfth ability when they accumulate . The usual progression of powers is as follows:

  • Level 1: Ethereal fire breath weapon
  • Level 2: Immunity to isolation
  • Level 3: Immunity based on most prominent bonded energy
  • Level 4: Immunity based on opposite of most prominent bonded energy
  • Level 5: Scale is a source of ethereal energy
  • Level 6: Bond to surroundings
  • Level 7: Release bond, once per year
  • Level 8: Quicken accumulation
  • Level 9: Sense energies
  • Level 10: Bond Names
  • Level 11: Summon bonded beings
  • Level 12: Commune with all bonded beings

All dragons accumulate energies by absorbing them naturally from the area around them. As such, they must carefully cultivate their lairs to provide the right kinds of energies, hence they hoard appropriate objects.

Other common powers include various powers based on most prominent bonded energies.

Alternate Forms Ethereal dragons take the forms of beings they have bonded to most prominently.
Weaknesses Disconnective powers can harm them.

Culture Bonded dragons lay their eggs near a source of ethereal energy, then flood their children upon hatching. They instantly bond to their children and raise they within a tight-knit, bonded community. At maturity, some choose to go seek their own communities to bond with.
