Asterian Zodiac:

Based on a 12 solar revolutionary cycle, the asterian zodiac is based on the Starfather's Court:
  1. The Fountain of the Universe, the Source, represented as the Octopus on Shem, correlates to the Starfather: year 1, month 6, hour 12. This is the beginning of the journey, close to home.
  2. The Brightest Star, the Sage, represented as the Owl on Shem, correlates to the Breathing Star: year 2, month 7, hour 1. This is within the first rung of the solar system, just outside of home.
  3. The Father of the Race, the Blade of the Galaxy, represented as the Tiger on Shem, correlates to the First Asterian: year 3, month 8, hour 2. This is within the outer rung of the solar system, where danger is present.
  4. The Voice of Twilight, the Singer, represented by the Rooster on Shem, correlates to the Starsinger: year 4, month 9, hour 3. This is just outside of the solar system, where one can still be heard.
  5. The Triheaded Space Cow, the Stargazer, represented by the Ox on Shem, correlates to the Triheaded Space Cow: year 5, month 10, hour 4. This is in deep space, where one must bring their own provision or die.
  6. The Cosmic Dragon, the Dragon, represented by the Dragon on Shem, correlates to the First Quartz Dragon: year 6, month 11, hour 5. This is near to the nearest stars, where unknown but beautiful visions lie.
  7. The Coiled Nebula, the Cosmic Leviathan, represented by the Worm on Shem, correlates to the Spacewurm: year 7, month 12, hour 6. This is near the dead stars, where powers unknown and beings most dangerous dwell.
  8. The Navigator, the Sailor of the Immensity, represented by the Hound on Shem, correlates to the Eternal Star Elven Pilot: year 8, month 1, hour 7. This is on the way back home, where the trail becomes clear.
  9. The Fist of the Asteroid, the Comet, represented by the Ram on Shem, correlates to the Stellar Gargoyle: year 9, month 2, hour 8. This is amongst the planetoids and asteroids of space, the dangers on the way home.
  10. The Distant Observer, the Cloudwalker, represented by the Ape on Shem, correlates to the Warden of Nebulae: year 10, month 3, hour 9. This is the view of home when returning to it, the different aspects you notice.
  11. The Bearer of the Firmament, the Star-Carrier, represented by the Hare on Shem, correlates to the Warden of the Stars: year 11, month 4, hour 10. This is the return, when one takes up the mantle of responsibility.
  12. The Fallen Hero, the Meteorite, represented by the Horse on Shem, correlates to the dead Champion of the Cosmos: year 12, month 5, hour 11. This is the final hour, when one finally understands the journey.
Terrestial Zodiac:

Based on the 12 month cycle, the terrestial church's zodiac is based on the Arbiter's ranking of the Starfather's Court:
  1. The World Tree, that which touches the stars, represented by the Octopus, first month. Corresponds to the first planet, Colos, the Messenger, and the Starfather.
  2. The Guardian, that which is humbled by the stars, represented by the Wolf on Shem, second month. Corresponds to the second planet, Behial, the Warrior, and the Champion of the Stars.
  3. The Sweet Bard, that which resonates with the stars, represented by the Songbird on Shem, third month. Corresponds to the third planet, Jahur, the Temptress, and the Starsinger.
  4. The Bearer of the Universe, that which carries the firmament, represented by the Hare on Shem, fourth month. Corresponds to the fourth planet, Shem, the Valet, and the Warden of the Stars.
  5. The Binary, the two stars in tandem, represented by the Ettin on Shem, fifth month. Corresponds to the fifth planet, Ruiz, the Twin Sibling, and the Warden of Nebulae.
  6. The Core of the World, that which balances the forces, represented by the Scales on Shem, sixth month. Corresponds to the sixth planet, Kruurach, the Stone Giant, and the Breathing Star.
  7. The Map Above, that which guides, represented by the Archer on Shem, seventh month. Corresponds with the seventh planet, Inoxuil, the Mindflayer, and the Eternal Star Elven Pilot.
  8. The Meteor Shower, the fall of the stars, represented by the 'Kanian Lion on Shem, eighth month. Corresponds with the eighth planet, Weptaram, the Marshall, and the Stellar Gargoyle.
  9. The Triheaded Space Cow, life amongst the stars, represented by the Bull on Shem, ninth month. Corresponds with the ninth planet, Thurudrill, the Duke, and the Triheaded Space Cow.
  10. The Blackhole, from which light cannot escape, represented by the Worm on Shem, tenth month. Corresponds with the tenth planet, Mytoth, the Duchess, and the Spacewurm.
  11. The Harbinger of the Race, the space traveler, represented by the Vagabond on Shem, eleventh month. Corresponds with the eleventh planet, Unim, the Wanderer, and the First Asterian.
  12. The Quartz Scorpion, encompassing space, represented by the Scorpion on Shem, twelfth month. Corresponds with the twelfth planet, Ane, the Daughter, and the First Quartz Dragon.
The Planets:
  • Colos, the Messenger, is a small planet, closest to the sun (Angelos), and is thus a broiling ball of magma and molten lead. It is small and fast.
  • Behial, the Warrior, is a planet about the size of Mars, also close to the sun, and is a bigger ball of magma and molten lead. It is seen as an angry red dot in the night sky.
  • Jahur, the Temptress, is a planet roughly equal to Venus, with the same sort of violent atmosphere and greenish hue. It is not as near to Shem as Venus is to Earth, but it is beautiful to behold and very commonly seen in Shem's sky. It has one tiny moon, Tsalib, which is a pink, rocky place.
  • Shem, the Valet, is the one the game usually takes place on. It is seen from Ruiz as a blue and green marble. It has three moons ('Rys, 'Zue, and 'Sana), and the World Tree reaching up from its north pole.
  • Salit, the Blue Jewel, is twin to Shem and revolves around her, but is masked by unseen forces. An ocean planet, there is no land above sea level. Much smaller than Shem, her moons are Shem's daughters: Myrrea, Phryscara, Yrothre, Shefere, and Veyethe.
  • Kruurach, the Stone Giant, is a huge world, almost large enough to be a gas giant, but not quite. It is a massive, rocky world that occasionally passes through the asteroid belt between Ruiz and itself (or itself and Inoxuil). It has 11 moons spotted and named moons, but the top five are Brosoth, Aldamond, Veeron, Calimel, and Rochar. No life is present on it.
  • Avagen, the Eye, is the new final planet, a red planet of strange wonders and chaos.
  • Inoxuil, the Mindflayer, is a toroidal world, about twice the size of Shem, that has an intensely warm core and a thick atmosphere. Its surface is covered in jungles and a tropical paradise, populated by floating, tentacled beings that have psionic abilities. It has a slow orbit that means it is often beyond the view of Shem or Ruiz, but when it is visible, it is a pale bluish white. It has two moons, Xevenon and Cleoptis.
  • Gallyneg, the Happy Marble, is a super puff planet (a gas planet with low density and great volume - a wispy cloud of a planet), made of light gases around a strong core. It has no moons, as it cannot maintain them, but it is nearly the size of Weptaram. It is bright orange and white.
  • Weptaram, the Marshall, is the first gas giant, and the largest gas giant in the system of Angeldawn. It has 41 moons named and observed, but the top five are Champion, Warden, Steward, Hand, and Herald. The rest of its moons continue that pattern until titles run out. It is a vibrant swirl of colors with a series of beautiful rings around it.
  • Thurudrill, the Duke, is the second gas giant, and second largest. It has 37 moons named and observed, but the top five are Thurumost, Thuruvail, Thurugram, Thurudray, and Thuruphonde. It has two sets of rings that form a cross over it, covering two different equators, and it is theorized to have a wobble to it. It appears to be a rich, soft violet color.
  • Mytoth, the Duchess, is the third largest and last gas giant. It has one tiny ring that is barely visible to astronomers and eleven moons, the top five of which are Sword, Skull, Hammer, Bell, and Thread. It is rich bluegreen in color and has a series of visible anomalies on its surface called the Nets of Ceronius, a series of net-like cloud formations that may or may not be storms.
  • Daialoth, the Ice Giant, is a frigid gas planet, a swirling mass of extremely cold ices and mists. It has a thin ring and a dozen moons (all named for breeds of cold-weather dogs). It is chilly white and blue, and has heavy ice mass at the poles. It is a double plane with Parsadus.
  • Parsadus, the Knight, is an iron megaplanet (a large terrestial planet) with a thin atmosphere. It is dominated by oceans of cyanogen and iron continents. It has no moons, as they have been drawn into Daialoth's orbit, with whom it is a double planet.
  • Unim, the Wanderer, is so called because of its irregular orbit. It might have once been a moon of one of the gas giants that broke off. It's about the size of Ruiz and has an atmosphere full of pink crystals floating in the air. No ship has ever been able to penetrate its atmosphere without being utterly destroyed. No one knows much more about it. It has no moons.
  • Ane, the Daughter, is the second to last planet, a tiny and cold place made of pink and yellow ice and blue stone. It has one moon, which is tiny, called Oe. The final asterian outpost is on Oe, which is little more than a few miles of brown rock.
Former planets:
  • Ruiz, the Twin Sibling, was the smaller sibling of Shem. From Shem, it was almost always visible in the night sky, and sometimes during the day. It was a bluish world with tinges of red and green. It had one moon, Oro, which is golden in hue and home to a asterian colony. It now floats in the asteroid belt. Ruiz vanished between Second and Third Shem, replaced inexplicably by Salit.
