Description At birth, all dragons look like large, pink worms. At maturity, dragons grow to be blue-scaled, multiple (2-5) headed giant lizards with wings, and they leave a burning wake when they fly.
Procreation Follows the mother with each other.
Procreation Dragons mate with each other only. Without intense supernatural interference, half-dragons are an impossibility. Dragons lay one to three eggs at a time. Upon hatching, a dragon immediately begins absorbing background energies. All dragon eggs are filled with pure, liquid draconic energy, which sustains the baby dragon upon hatching.
Esoterica Zinc dragons have accumulated draconic power in great quantities. Pattern aether, winds aether, and Damaskian power are not uncommon, as well as kor, bestial aether, white tiger aether, mana, gebvel, fate, and ordinal powers. Divine energies are common. Other powers vary greatly.
Special Powers

Dragons gain new powers as they accumulate more energies. At each stage of growth, they gain a new ability, usually culminating with the twelfth ability when they accumulate . The usual progression of powers is as follows:

  • Level 1: Lightning breath weapon
  • Level 2: Immunity to electricity
  • Level 3: Immunity to heat
  • Level 4: Immunity to dehydration
  • Level 5: Scales allow bearer bonuses to defending territory
  • Level 6: Impervious barrier
  • Level 7: Obliterate object, once per year
  • Level 8: Detect water
  • Level 9: Radar sense
  • Level 10: Control winds
  • Level 11: Summon thunderstorms
  • Level 12: Know territory

All dragons accumulate energies by absorbing them naturally from the area around them. As such, they must carefully cultivate their lairs to provide the right kinds of energies, hence they hoard appropriate objects.

Other common powers include

Alternate Forms Zinc dragons rarely take alternate forms, but if they do, it is a human or animalman local to their domain.
Weaknesses If a zinc dragon's domain is violated or conquered, it will slowly kill them.

Culture Zinc dragons embody the concept of territory. Their domains on the steppes of northern Palhur are sacrosanct to them, and they live to defend them. They live in small tribes, each ruled by the strongest dragon. An elite cadre is chosen each year to protect and tend the young and the hatchery, which is a bower in the heart of their territory, and every zinc dragon has their own task to perform in the tribe. As they age, their tasks evolve with their abilities. Once they are too old to work, a younger dragon is tasked with caring for them until the time comes for them to die. Most zinc dragons choose their time of dying, and a festival is held to honor their lives. They are then brought to the hatchery and their bodies are given to the young. They do not trust other tribes and form fierce rivalries.
