An ysian who keeps a small temple in town where she has no known followers, Yserelleste serves the Stillborn God, a strange being known for its hatred of children, life, and fertility. Though everyone views her as a disturbing, dangerous follower of a vile divine, she is tolerated because she provides services to the locals that they cannot get otherwise--contraceptives, abortions, and certain operations the local surgeons won't perform. Because of the illegal nature of some of these, her work is an open secret. It is said that she also provides poisons to those seeking to murder or commit suicide. Yserelleste's history is completely unknown to the locals; she moved to town over 500 years ago and set up shop, shortly after the religious freedom laws were passed. She rarely involves herself in local politics, except to oppose any laws that legalize the illegal services she provides. It is well known that she has her hooks in many, many locals who have used her for illegal services, and she relishes the power this provides her. She is also known to never use painkillers, instead numbing patients with her dark arts. Some say she takes pieces of their souls. She has a collection of animal hearts in jars in her temple.
